Let's hear what your favorite Connie is, and also what flavor's your favorite one has (sweet, spicy, creamy, earthy, etc.).

Seems alot of people really like these cigars, and this thread will help those who have never tried one, buy them intelligently.

I am feelin a bit on the Duh side asking this, but when you guys talk about Connies, are you talking about Consuegra, as in Consuegra Seconds as are available from Cigar Hut?

The only Connies I have had are #30 and #303. I like the #303's right now. Both were pretty wet off the truck. The #303's are a mild-medium with a decent pepper quality to them. I'll smoke a 30 tonight to refresh my memory and post later.

I have had the 25's in maduro and the 26's in ems. Both are good smokes. If you like ERDM, you'll like the 26.

I've noticed alot of you speeking of seconds, alts, and these connies. When I first started smoking back in 92' I use to smoke the Don Mateo bundles quite a bit, but I eventually just began smoking premium and ultra premium smokes. I haven't smoked a bundle type cigar in years. It almost sounds like I might be missing out on these connies. For the money it doesn't seem like you could go wrong.

Someone say the word, and I'm buying a couple boxes today.
??? ??? ??? :D :)

I've only had the #30, those were pretty good! See post on other thread! LOL

I am thinking about ordering a bundle of them tonight. JR is out of alot of them. Are the lower #'s any good? 14, 15, etc.

Do the math...25 smokes of Connies, Alts, or Genuine Counterfeits for $25 or 25 smokes of premiums for $80-100. While every alt, connie, counterfeit isn't an awesome smoke, they are good. My suggestion trading or passing for some, see what they are about, and buy or not buy. But be careful, once properly aged, they get good enough to buy more than you really want. And every now and again, they are kick butt!

The 14's match up to Excalibur #1's. The 143 is very tasty. The 9's match up with Punch/Hoyo Rothchilds and the 733 used to match up with the ERDM Robusto Larga, but now could be several different Villazon brand seconds.

So as to not confuse those of you not familiar with the numbering system for Connies, a "3" on the end of the number like 143 would be maduro.

Thanks Shadow! I love the Excalibur! May have to try those.

I'll let em age as Emo suggested! That way I can rotate my stock!

i have never smoked a "connie" so i can't comment on them, though i do see a lot of people into them.

733 and #9 Maduros in the Connies.

The local JRs in Statesville, NC often has "Connies" that have been in storage so long that the cellophane is yellow...talk about a good cigar right off the shelf. These are definitely one of the best cigars for the money. With one years aging they are awesome. I have at least 6 bundles in my coolerdor at all times....aging and getting better and better.

You can't go wrong with these! They are inexpensive - an exceptional "bang for the buck" cigar. With one years aging they are much better than the majority of higher priced stogies. Many cigar veterans keep a large supply of Connies in their humidors as "the old reliable standby."

Great idea for a topic, Rod!
