For the guys out there that get 4 seasons know how it can go after a long winter. Even though the calender says its Spring that is always far from the truth. For me here in Derry, NH there is a few things that I look for every Spring that really tells me warm weather is on its way.

1. My Birthday 3/1
2. Here in Derry there is a little Clam shack that is open for the warm months called Clam Haven. If you are ever in the area during the summer it is a must visit. They are celebrating their 60th year. Opened 3/12
3. All those galvanized buckets strapped to the trees. (Doc knows what I'm talking about)
4. The wood pile on the deck is almost gone. 4.5 cords of wood and I'm down to about 20 pieces.
5. Opening day for the MLB!

So what about everyone else in the cooler climates. What makes you realize that summer is almost here?

Short skirts starting to come back out. Yup, that's about it.
That was on my list but I took it off... Thanks Ben for keeping it real.

Lakes forming everywhere on the streets.
Being able to go skillet shooting lightly dressed (not like when I take out the trash;-)
Bikes comming back on the streets and having death wishes.
Motocycles are also back on the streets.

Smoking cigars outside !

We haven't used buckets in years or horses for that matter.

Peepers
Red winged black birds
Black flys

The Bradford Pear trees in full bloom. Nothing prettier than a line of Bradfords with their white blossoms in full glory.

Still lots of buckets here in Derry. Pinkerton Academy uses them all over their property. They haven't upgraded to the tubing systems you also see everywhere else. That's a class I really wish I took during my years there.

Generally for me it's when I am standing outside with a beer, tending the charcoal grill, smoking a cigar, and never having to run in for cover.

That's usually when I realize, yeah, spring is here.

When you can go start the car in the morning, or check the mail, take out the garbage, and not have to bundle up in 9 layers of clothing. Spring is a coming! checking the mail in your boxers LOL

Sprouting tobacco seeds.
Soil samples and last till preparation.
Strong southerly winds.
Tornado warnings.

All the yankees heading back up north ;)

My midgets stop wearing their fur coats.

My ex wife stops banging on the back door asking if she can please sleep inside as it's freezing.
