So, IF anyone contacts/trades with him caveat emptor. The capitalization of "IF" also leads me to believe you are encouraging people to trade with him, which we would be outside the spirit of the rules of the board. Do you per chance need a new laptop?

While tkieck's IP address appears to originate from Boston, it's possible Ghost is using a proxy, or remote connecting into his buddy's PC which resides in Boston.

Assuming this tkieck guy isn't Hans, then my question is what motivated him to join CP, why is he here, and does he plan on becoming a true member of this community? If he's here only to back up his buddy Hans, then he has no right being here, and his account will be terminated.

The chances that ghost and trevor NOT being the same person are about as slim as Joe and I winning the dunk contest in next year's NBA all-star game. The original persona was Karma who was banned on Feb 12th, 2007. Ghost joines Feb. 17th of that year and in his 5th post claims to be a good friend of karma's and defends his actions. Ghost was banned on Feb 16th 2010 and trevor joined Feb 18th and in his thrid post claims to be a good friend of ghost and defends him. Karma was banned almost three years to the date but was "last active" Feb 18th at 12:18pm. Ghost was "last active" yesterday at 1:29pm. However this happens, it is clear this person wants back in to CP and now we have trevor. I would bet heavily against this being coincidence.

Ghost and trevor both share a similar writing style. There seems to be a certain degree of education present as the choice of words is above average. Both have a tendency to be sarcastic, condescending and will include subtle digs at people or the board in general in their posts. The "stir the kool-aid" remark HERE reminds me of multiple ghost remarks in his ISO laptop fiasco. trevor seems to not have a shift key while ghost does but aside from that they are very similar. The two quotes below really stand out to me. The first is from trevor exhibiting some computer knowledge and basically explaining his understanding of how joining CP works:

However, what i will not do is degrade his character, something i have witnessed first hand for years just to appease a select few. And as for your insinuation about me secretly being hans or perhaps just ironicly joining to back him up, it is merely coincidence. And considering I have a bu.edu email address, which are only given out by boston university, and email access is needed to activate a cp account, and access to that email also gives you access to all of my school records and finances, I would say it is safe to say i am who i say i am.

Clint, those were my exact thoughts. From the start his posting style was near identical, as well as his age. I find the fact he says that he coincidentally joined 2 days after Ghost's banning insulting to our collective intelligence. While it is always possible for your best friend to join CP without your knowledge, how likely is it really? So that leaves us with Trevor either being Ghost or signing up in conjunction with Ghost. I think Hans/Karma/Ghost has proved he's a pathological liar so it's no stretch to believe he would take it to this level.

Yea i would imagine thats a pretty good idea. I usually just read these boards because i think everyone does good reviews of cigars and i like hearing other smokers opinions, but i saw this herf threat and couldn't help but join and throw in my two cents. I have been a patron of LCC since I was 16 and met some of closest friends there, plus they just moved into their new store so i couldnt help but promote it. But i will absolutly post an introduction, as far as i can tell this seems to be a great forum with great people.

I only verified the fact that Ghosts/Karma's IP addresses point to Milwaukee, while Trevor's IP points to Boston, MA. Trevor could very well be who he says he is, however there is far too much doubt surrounding his true identity. I hate to ban someone without having 100% hard evidence, however seeing as though Trevor only came here to backup his buddy (assuming Trevor is who he says he is), his intent is not to be a true contributing member of this community, therefore he is now banned.

Some of you may feel that I'm banning a "newbie" for no reason, however we've seen this scenario played out many times in the past. Even if Trevor is someone different than Ghost/Karma, he only joined to backup his buddy. My responsibility of this community is to do everything I can to prevent the members from getting taken advantage of, and to keep bad traders at bay. There is far too much suspicious behavior from Trevor which resembles that of Ghost and Karma. Hans (ghost/karma) has attempted to make several fake accounts since he was banned, which has resulted in me having to shut down all new registrations and verify manually for the time being.

To be clear, I'm not faulting any decision made. This statement brought up one question. Wouldn't this point to them being two people?

I'm not saying that Hans hasn't influenced Trevor, or even logged in using his friends account, I'm just saying that the initial sign up may likely have been done by someone else.

Nice work, Rod. You could always report his activity to his ISP, since he's essentially spamming your board trying to make all these new accounts. I bet his parents would be pissed if their internet got shut down because of a TOS violation.

Whether they are two different people is somewhat irrelevant. They both appeared to be pushing the same agenda. When asked why he had came here Trevor did not respond. IIRC all of his post were in the herf thread. He viewed this thread (I wish I would have copied it now) and had ample time to respond. No one expected him to degrade his friend nor should he have expected members here to blindly accept his assertions. I said it in the other thread and will say it again here, being a "true" friend means that on occasion you have to tell your friends when the really foul-up. IMHO, that is the measure of a true friend.

Rod I really appreciate the tough spot this put you in and feel that you did what is best for the community as a whole.
