My wife asked me for some gift ideas for our anniversary and my birthday coming up.  At the top of the list was a box of LADC Noblesse as well as several less expensive alternatives.  While shopping for the LADC she found a 20% coupon to CI.  The coupon could not be applied to the LADC but could be applied to the other three boxes and would come out to the same price.  So she gave me the option of the box of 24 LADC or the three other boxes for a total of 60 cigars.

Question for everyone is which would you choose to receive, the single expensive box or the three less expensive boxes?  I have already made my choice but it sure wasn't easy.

It would depend on what my supply of cigars were like. If I had plenty of cigars in the humidor I would pick the 1 box but if I was already low and needed more, go for the 60. Other factors could include how easy are the 60 to find later compared to the LADC and such.

Personally, my humidor is pretty full at this time so I would pick the LADC and get the other boxes later as I made room.

Just my noob 2 cents if it means anything...

It depends on my experiences with the cigars in question. Have you smoked them all? How do they rate compared to each other? We all know that price doesn't always equal quality.

If we're working under the assumption that the three less expensive boxes are "everyday" cigars and the LADC are that much better, here's my thought process: I don't get to smoke very often, especially once the weather turns. And while my collection is small compared to a lot of what I've seen on CP, if I never bought another cigar, I'd be good for a couple years, easy. Because of that, I'd go with the LADC.

It pains me to say this, but I agree with Tom.  Due to my infrequency of enjoying a cigar, I'd go with the LADC.  If you're busting through a box of cigars a week, then the 60 might be a better choice.

Quality over quantity. Unless you feel the 60 sticks are higher quality. Also, is the noblesse a regular release item now? Is the box one of the OR limited? Things to consider.

Agreed- I do smoke a lot but I would get the better stogies every time.

The more affordable cigars in question might be found cheaper in the future.

I agree with the rest. I'd go quality first. I'd rather try to ration 20 great cigars than blow through 60 okay cigars.

You're not worth all four boxes of cigars for two memorable occasions? May be time to trade her in.

Life is too short for inexpensive cigars. Always go with the best.

Always the right answer.  Applies to more than cigars, actually......

In this instance all of the cigars in question are ones that I have had and enjoyed.  I did decide to go with the LADC.  My reasoning was that I can buy the other boxes one at a time later whereas the LADC would be harder to purchase on my own for the price.  Just wanted to get other opinions on the matter.
