This is DT's latest album and features the return of drummer Mike Portnoy after a 15 year absence! Mike was a founding member of DT, but left/was kicked out of the band in 2010. Both he and guitarist, John Petrucci did an interview on Chris Jericho's podcast discussing Mike's return and the give and take both Mike and the band had to make for his return to work.

I have never heard of or listened to DT, but when I listen to that track the drums really stand out to me. Very technical but also raw sounding...
 
Kevin Moore, another founding member and former keyboard player for Dream Theater is now a practicing psychiatrist in Minot, ND if you can believe it. This after a near 40 year career making music. Wild.

I wish! I have a handful of musician icons and he’s pretty close to the top. I love everything he’s ever done. One could say I’m rather obsessed with him. I’ve been to Minot once many years ago and instantly fell in love with the town. Great little NoDak city. I will admit I have considered booking an appointment with him but it would be so transparently disingenuous I don’t think I could do it. If I bumped in to him out in the wild I would most likely tell him he’s one of my all time favorites and thank him for his genius. This has been my tact in the past apart from Diamond Dave who I was so dumbstruck to see walking by me I couldn’t even move.
