What SMOKING music are you listening to? (2025)

I an way behind the curve on the 3 sister Baja Mexican band as they have been around for a decade and had product out for 7 years. they first got noticed for their cover of Enter Sandman while aged 11-13.

If you only believe one thing I've ever posted believe this: These girls ROCK!

Been a fan of these young ladies for quite a while. Watch their 2022 show from the Pepsi Arena (I think it is) in Mexico. Fantastic stuff.

Funny you brought up their cover of Enter Sandman, because I came here to post this:

(Best Metallica has sounded in decades, IMHO, and they've been sounding pretty good for about 10 years now...)

I just dl'd and watched the Pepsi 2022 concert. Really good show.

The Metallica held it's own too.

Prog Friday

Thick As A Brick - Jethro Tull

Ian Anderson's 1972 parody of "concept albums" led to what is considered Tull's first full Prog release and one of the genre's top 10 albums. Starting with the title taking a shot at the Who's Tommy - a deaf, dumb and blind kid would be thick as a brick in UK slang. The single opus dual sided album itself poking at some of the overblown songs by other Prog bands - think Yes and ELP. The original packaging was a 12 page "newspaper" with stories about the 8 year old boy genius who wrote the poem that became the album. Yet another poke at the savant Tommy..

I listened to this cassette at least twice a day every weekday during the 1980-1981 school year. The first tape didn’t survive so had to buy another. Pretty sure it has spun through my ears front to back more than 1000 times over the years.

I remember 14-15 years ago somebody posting this and I thought it was one of the funniest things I had seen. I appreciate it now for the effort involved by these 2 girls.

LOL... that is funny. Only because I used to coach girls travel softball. The girls are the ones that got to choose the music on our Thursday practices and they are the reason I even heard this song. Yje video also looks like something they would do. 😁 Thanks Ray.
