Sipping on a 2004 Old Guardian Barleywine, so complex.

Followed it up with a bottle of Sour in the Rye from the Bruery, love it.

Good, but not great.

Then, two IPA's enter, only one leaves standing:

I really enjoyed Fresh Squeezed last summer, I thought it was fantastic.  But maybe it's my palate, it just doesn't taste the same in six packs now.

Sucks was far and away a better beer.  Then again, I love Sucks so I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

Mike last time I had Fresh Squeezed I thought the same thing, something was off, way off.

Today I had a Kirin Ichiban at the Japan location in Epcot the some Florida beer City Duke's Cold Nose Brown Ale and Mad Manatee IPA, both from Bold City, when I got back to the hotel room. I went to Hanahpu Day a few weeks ago and will add what I drank from there later.

Hmm, last night there was Sapporos, sake, Allagash Cureaux, Old Rasputin, Magic Hat #9, and then some vodka.  Combine that with a ton of sushi and I'm surprised I didn't boot.

I had a few this weekend:

Goose Island Ten Hills Pale Ale...this was great
Killian's Irish Stout.........not too bad, but a little thin for my tastes
Sierra Nevada Ruthless Rye IPA........I wanted the bottle  knowing It was too hoppy for me, but it was suprising good.
Ballast Point Calico Amber Ale........I really enjoyed these, a nice balance that is not too hoppy.

I'm a sucker for a barrel aged beer and this one did not disappoint!

Got one of those from my SS this year and it was mighty tasty!

Over the weekend:
Karbach Hellfighter
Stone 12.12.12 (awful, something wrong with it. no carbonation and a funky odor)
Clown Shoes Blaecorn Unidragon( first one, and tasty, complex enough I'm going to want to try another)
Real Ale XV Anni, wish they'd make this a regular production...
Blanche de Brussels

I had a Uinta HopNosh and Due South Category 5 IPA yesterday. Another Mad Manatee today and bunch of wine with my wife.

Is this worth trying to hunt down? I've seen a lot of people mention it.

When John sent it to me, the label scared me a little, as I thought it would be extremely hoppy.  I don't do well with really hoppy beers, but this one was extremely balanced and was really really good. It's definitely one I'd look for if you have the chance.

Bell's Third Coast Ale
Central Waters Y2K

Both delicious barleywines, I liked the Y2K better, and that's saying a lot.

I have a Y2K in the fridge that a buddy sent me, looking forward to trying it.  I've liked the Central Waters specialty brews.
