For those who have a wealth of experience with regards to cigars, what are your favorite non-cuban cigars? I know that a cigar is different from one person to another, but I would be interested to hear what your favorites have become, and why :thumbs:

I'm answering as a Veteran, not because I have a wealth of experience, though. ;)
 
Thanks :D Any brand you prefer over another? I'm just getting back into cigars, and am trying to decide what to purchase.
 
Illusiones and A. Fuentes, you can't go wrong with either, even the cheapest are better then some of the best of other brands. :thumbs:

Concure with the AF's (haven't had any Illusiones). I've tried four or five different AF smokes and they've all been between good and superb. I wish I could say that for most of the other manufacturors I've sampled. ???
 
The guys at Padron make a pretty darn consistant smoke........
 
Lots of great NCs out there. Almost too many to tell. Might be able to tell you some that are more geared towards your tastes. Is price a concern? That being said, the ones already mentioned are all good.
 
Padron, Pepin, Fuente, Tatuaje, Illusione, and LFD. I’m not a veteran, I’m just a biased cigar snob.

Thanks for all of the great suggestions guys. I've looked at quite a few sites which seem to have competitive prices among them, but it's hard to see which would give the best service/price ratio. I don't mind paying a tad bit more for superior service. I'm leaning towards some of the sponsors on this site, but does anyone have a vendor that they would choose above all others?
 
Spend some time here and it will become increasingly obvious who the good vendors are. Use the search function to research the vendors you have found, most have been discussed here.

Another newb here and I love all the above as well as Rocky Patel, Diamond Crown Maximus, Brickhouse, and Camacho.
 
I'm a Disabled Veteran if that counts. You can never go wrong with the LFD's, Padron, Fuente's, Tat's, Illisione's, Hemingway Maduro and Natural. Plus a few others. Try and see what is your favorite.

My personal favorite is Opus X and Anejo #48. Yes, I'm a snob. :thumbs:
 
Definitely not a veteran but I have to say that the Liga Privada Beli is my favorite NC
 
Overall, I like Fuentes, Ashtons and Padrons best.

AFA individual smokes my current favs are:

Fuente Hemingway maduro, any
Ashton San Cristobal, any
RP OWR, either wrapper

The two best smokes I've had in the past couple of years
were a Fuente Hemi maduro Signature and a La Aurora Cien Anos
robusto, both with a few years on them. Both xlnt+ !

I haven't seen anything listed above that I don't agree with, but I will add the Fuente line of Ashton VSGs, but the Drew Estates Liga # 9 and T 52s are also great.

I also find myself smoking a lot more of the AF WOAMs.

There are so many.
