Got me a 100 quart Coleman cooler, and ordered a pound of beads from heartfelt. I'm tired of having to maintain 3 humidors.

If you buy it (cooler) they will come (boxes) :D

from personal experience (warning...I'm still a noob) the 100 qt Coleman works great...along with the beads from Viper's site.

My only problem is the heat during hot days.
It's hard to keep down (my place gets really hot).

But overall, the seal is pretty good and the room...to fill with WHOLE boxes of goodies!

Awesome you won't be disappointed! I love mine! :)

You should go min. of 150qt.

really.

I have a 100qt, and it's full. BEYOND full... I have loose sticks crammed (well, not really crammed) in every available space. I'm emailing right now with Dave for Cheap Humidors about the 1200 cabinet. I figure even if it does 800, it'll be better. The 100qt I got does not allow for two regular boxes to be placed side by side on a shelf. smaller SLB boxes do of course, but just your normal boxes won't. It's like a puzzle trying to get everything to fit. Even the 150 is the same width, unless you go with the marine rated cooler, then it's a inch or two wider which allows for 2 boxes side by side.

So I'm going bigger... and more square for box storage.

heck, it's only $$$, right? :( damn shipping to Alaska is about 2/3 the cost of the humi...

I decided to go to a cooler. I had four humidors. I sold two of em. Glad I kept the rest. I am know considering buying a second cooler. I, like many of you, am out of control. :p

My first cooler is 100 quarts. My second one is 120. No problem with more than one cooler.

Here's some pics. I don't have everything in it yet.

Now I have a question. I got a pound of 65% beads from heartfelt. For a humidifier, I got a little Ziploc storage container and drilled a bunch of little holes in the lid...

When the lid is snapped shut, the humidity stays around 52-55%. If I crack the lid, it shoots to about 76-80%. How can I stabilize it?

Do what I did (I have the same container / beads) - lose the lid.... With 65% beads my cooler runs 68-70% all the time.

Cheers - B.B.S.

grab that satchel(mesh bag) from vipers site, works wonders and allows the air to flow evenly.also easier to charge the beads when needed.
since i bought one, my RH has been 65% on the nut. for a pound of beads you may need a couple.
p.s.-how's the little one doing?

Either go with the pantyhose sack or cut out the center of the lid of your container and and then take a piece of pantyhose and lay/cover over the bottom part of the rubbermaid container. Then snap the lid with the center cut out on, holding the pantyhose down.

I agree, getting one of the mesh bags Viper offers makes the idiot proof beads even easier to use. Easier to recharge and always stays dead on 65%.
