Vinotemp - 58 Bottle - FREON

Thanks for looking out bro, and while I am not familiar with this particular Vinotemp I do see two potential problems.

Whites go towards the bottom (colder) and the reds toward the top (warmer).

It seems as though there is no way to regulate the difference in temperature and that it is automatically colder at the bottom, and warmer at the top. That would make storing cigars relatively difficult considering the fact that you would never really have a constant temp.

The second problem, and the biggest of the two, is that it looks to be a condenser unit as opposed to the thermoelectric. When the unit is on and cooling it will effectively suck out the humidity which would make it a fairly pointless wineodor.

I point these out not to call you out, however to warn others about units like these, and to make sure you know everything there is to know about it before you buy it. If I am wrong on either of the two points above I apologize, this just seems to be the case with this particular model.

looks like it holds 24 bottles

Its deeper, so behind the four bottles you see, there's room for 5 more.

Not calling me out at all, I'm not aware of the difference, and its great to mention it. So myself and others are clear, we specifically need a THERMOELECTRIC vino, not a condenser unit? This one does appear to be a condenser unit like a regular fridge, but has temp settings up to 68 degrees. Thank you for pointing that out, as I was considering it. I'll keep the thermoelectric part in mind.

Yes, to my knowledge (keep in mind that it is a quite limited knowledge these days), it HAS to be a thermoelectric unit, if it is not it will suck out the humidity when it cools. The smaller Vinotemps 12, 21, 28 bottles are the most obvious options, but there are other makers out there that are viable options, Haier and Danby coming to mind.

I searched "Wine" in the humidor section and came up with three pages of reading that should keep you busy for a while.

Check it out.

This is another thing I read before making the plunge with my Vinotemp:
