VIDEO: How we make it. CUBAN SANDWICH CIGARS

Pretty crappy that I first thought about Tampa Cubans and got all salivating and such!

Pretty crappy filler.... :0

That's what a "cuban sandwich" style cigar is, though. These are often pretty cheap, too. And it could still be a decent cigar, just depends on what your tastes are.

Pretty neat watching an experienced roller at work. It's amazing how pliable the wrapper leaves are.

I used to be able to roll a spliff that size with a single Zig Zag, while driving 15mph down Route 95...

There are actually some pretty decent short filler, mixed filler, and cuban sandwich style cigars out there considering the price. Tabacos Baez SF, Tatuaje Series P, Ashton Benchmade, etc.

A cigar doesn't have to look pretty to taste good. I've enjoyed many a $2 cigar.

Most likely what looks like a piece of cake would humble us if we had to do it. I would like to try rolling a few so I have an appreciation of the art.

I never smoked a cuban sandwich cigar. Do they always taste a little different, being that its made from leftovers from mutable other cigars? So if you got a bundle one may be great another not so much? Or if there from the same bundle they all taste kind of the same ?

The goal is to have them all taste as close to the same as possible. Despite being a mix of many different tobaccos, there is a "blend," not just whatever random tobacco is on hand. Well, I guess to what degree this is done also depends on the company involved. If you look at some of the companies Brent mentions, I would think their QC is tighter than what you may find elsewhere.

Most of the "Pepin" made short fillers I've had are pretty good, and they are usually similar in taste profile. The only major difference I notice with them, is that the ash doesn't hold together well for obvious reasons.
