Anyways we had a wonderful day and the bonus,
it was a day where she wanted me to smoke as much as a can! I love her!

The CAO review will close soon too. I didn't forget.

i'm looking forward to the reviews, i have a few of the partagas blacks and rosados, but haven't had the chance to fire em up. either way, sweet gift from your girl.

My laptop is at the Apple store, so my picture editing is nil. Getting it back today and I'll complete the review this weekend.

Thanks,

I'm pulling this thread from the grave to provide the review! I feel like a complete ass for not completing this sooner. However, here it is; better late then never!

First up the Partagas Cameroon Naturales

Before I begin I need to set the mood. It was Valentines day, my fiance bought us tickets to Avalon, Ca. on Catalina Island. Also important to note, it was a beautiful day!!!

Here is the pre-light:

At about 11:00am I torched this baby. All I can say is wow. Given the time of day, the weather and my hunger level this was perfect timing. Its a great morning/early afternoon cigar. The construction is firm as you can see, with few flaws.

The first inch was sweet and smooth with a youthful tobacco taste, not immature, but clean.

Working on the second inch I tasted smooth coffee and earthy cling on the tongue. The ash is slightly compact.

The third inch is bringing the cameroon up a bit. Still a wonderful light, but flavorful smoke.

I really enjoyed this one. In fact while smoking I decided this will be my early wedding day morning smoke.

Nice review and great pics! :)

I wonder how does nonISOM Partagas taste like :)

Part two, Patagas San Agustin

A few hours after brunch and a few of these

I pulled out the San Agustin. Sitting on a bench next to my fiance I torched the second stick up.

The first inch was smooth and creamy with a medium body. The burn was a bit off, but I blame that on the coastal breeze. The flavor is strong tobacco, almost nothing but, however it isn't unpleasant.

Through the second inch and on down the burn started running on me. I had to fix it a few times. Starting at the second inch a nutty/woody flavor is starting to fight its way through the prominent tobacco. Also of note, the smoke quantity, it was all over the place. Very nice, regardless of the breeze. I hope the people on the pier enjoyed it :)

I did not enjoy the San Agustin nearly as much as the naturales. It just didn't pull my wow trigger

Next will be the Black. However I didn't smoke that on Avalon. I saved it for another day. We ate dinner later

Then bid farewell to Avalon, it was an awesome Valentines day. For a guy saying that you know that's something :)

Finale! Partagas Black

To many this is a cornerstone cigar, its a go-to kinda thing. A good fall back, or a walk down memory lane. This was my first black, so I hope you can enjoy the experience with me.

The construction is nice, its a deep dark maduro with a nice oily feel. I have to say I 'like' all the Partagas cigar bands. Something I can't say of many other companies. I think simplicity is a good thing, but size also maters. I think the Partagas or just right for me.

Snipping this puppy and taking a pre-draw I'm already tasting some earthy bite. I'm prepping a for a full-bodies experience. Draw was great.

The first inch was very much maduro flavored, also nutty and strong. I began to wonder if the flavor profile would remain the same all the way down.

The second inch was strong and earthy. There was also this great veil of mystery. I could taste hints of mystery flavors just behind the curtain of the strong flavors. I really like smoking a medium to full-bodied cigar on a nice evening that has a very nice strong earthy tobacco taste.

Third inch was more full-bodied still. Its ends well.

I liked this cigar, I'm going to smoke another one soon to try and piece together some of the mystery flavors.

Thanks for checking this out as always guys, sorry I took my sweet ass time on it.

Sweet reviews, i've had the rosado wrapped Partagas sofar and thought it was good. The thinner vitolas have a hint of cinnamon imo , but still a strong tobacco taste. Maybe i'll bust out my Partagas Black from the bottom of my humi this weekend.

Put the torch to those babies!

Nice reviews and great pictures. I enjoy those Patagas blacks.
My last batch needed to rest in the humi a while before they settled down.

Thanks for the review!!! I have always found those smokes to be consistent.

Does she have a sister? ;)

Sounds like you had a wonderful day and your reviews were very enjoyable and informative!

Thanx,

Steve

I've enjoyed a couple Rosados and 4 or 5 Blacks. One comment I would add on the Black, and I wonder if you had the same experience, is that I've always had a somewhat tight draw on them. A couple times it was to the point of being annoying. Otherwise, I love the taste and the oils and I do still go back to them.

Thanks for the photos and the review. Excellente.
