USPS problem

I did a split with several members.
I sent out all participants their end.


Unfortunately one never made it and is M.I.A.

I used USPS to print labels and got the DC#.

Well I checked on my end and he checked on his end. And no one knows anything.

So my question is what can I do.

Anyone who has been in this situation please give me your input.

What does the DC# say when you track it on their website?

Was the package insured? (not that it really matters... they almost never pay it off)

In my experience, there's not a lot you can do about it. You just have to keep checking with them. Sorry to hear about this.

First, Check the DC repeatedly until it shows delivery. If it doesn't show delivery, there's a good chance it's just hung up somewhere. If it shows delivery, and you guy doesn't have it, then there's a problem.

The most common cause of this, in my past experience as an eBayer, is that the post office delivered the package to a similar but incorrect address.

I recommend you have your recipient check houses (or apartments) on either side, etc. You might get lucky.

Sorry that I can't offer any advise. I just wanted to post that I mailed out 3 money orders last week and only 1 has reached it's destination. I can only hope that I can find the reciepts. I would really hate to pay for the same smokes twice.

How long has the package been in the mail?

If it doesn't show up in a week or two, then send another package or refund to the guy for the loss of smokes. It's really no one's fault, but sadly the sender always has to cover the loss.

About 10 days.

I have already sent him out a package to make up for the loss. Im not concerned about that.
I just wonder if I have any recourse with the USPS.

I was mailing Ken (Cigarsarge) a package once and used the auto system, and the label came off. They returned to me, and the DC showed no record. Go to the Post office, they can tell you more then that website.

Even though I get DC on my packages, the campus PO never scans them in, neither does the downtown PO when they get them.

Last year I did a box split on another forum and while most of the packages arrived, one took about 2 mos to get there!

Yeah, the PO pretty much just smiles and nods then moves on.
Only time I ever got $$ back was when I showed them a box from ebay full of broken SKYY martini glasses
