Hey every1,
Im sending some cigars to a guy in Finland, and apparently they dont allow tobacco products to be shipped there. ??? What do you guys write on the customs declaration slips when that occurs?

Thanks,
-Zach

Genius! Something box-like that has to be packed with bunches of bubble wrap. thanks tone-ny

"lingerie" lol :p

Seriously though, throw in a magazine and write "Reading Material"

Just a thought -

If i was going to send something illegal in the mail, and i never would..

But if i was going to...

I probably wouldn't help the feds at all by posting on a public forum what my box looks like, has written on it, etc...

Like you think they dont already know? Its more like that just dont give a rats arse. I mean..they care so much I walked through Customs in Chicago with 20 cigars contraband. :whistling: Right out in the open...when I say open...you could read the bands.Instead, they nail this lady cuz she had a bananna. Go figure.

celt I agree, however its not illegal in Finland, its just highly controlled and thus the Receiver will have to pay a excise tax if 50V writes tabacco on the package.

Here is the Finnish laws...

http://pre20031103.stm.fi/english/eho/tobacco/osa0.htm

Certain goods such as wines, spirits, cigars, cigarettes and tobacco are subject to what is called excise duty. When you buy excisable goods in Finland the price you pay includes this tax. However, if you import these goods either from the EU or from outside the EU, you will have to pay Excise Duty and VAT on them. The Excise Duty is often more than the cost of the goods

However if he writes gift on the form, the person receiving the smokes will not have to pay as long as the worth of the cigars is under 50€

So write "Gift" and under value any dollar amount under 55 dollars to be safe.

And why exactly couldn't a cigar be a Christmas Tree Ornament? It would make a "SMOKIN" tree in my opinion.
