Using old humidor as storage

Another dumb question... I recently bought a 300 count humi, so my little 50 capacity one is not needed. I am thinking about taking the humidifier and hygrometer out and using it to store my cutters and lighters. Is that a good idea, or do I not want the humi to get too dry -- just in case I want to use it as a backup in the future?
I tried a search for this, but didn't turn up anything.

I also use an old 50ct. for supplies/accessories. If you need to use it in the future, just re-season it. It's not going to get any drier than when you first bought it.

Letting it dry out wont hurt it. You may find however that weekly trips to the Outlaw may have you rethinking the use of that 50 ct. humi. :D

Use an empty cigar box for your accessories and keep that humi ready for unplanned overflow. It can happen at any time.

Boy, ain't that the truth!

I did shit-can the florist foam for the smallest Viper tube and keep the 50-ct in ready reserve. I had to tap it just last night.

Thanks to all who replied!! I may just to have the little 50 capacity one back in use before long -- double checked my inventory and my new "bigger" one doesn't have much more room!! :whistling:
