MMA vs Boxing I dont think Toney can win.
Randy should fight this entire fight on the ground. Hard to ko someone from your back

I anticipated two possible ways the fight would go. Toney would either land a KO blow early on (Tim Sylvia vs. Ray Mercer), or Randy would take it to the ground and either submit or ground and pound.

*spoilers withheld*

Coture did what any MMA fighter would in that situation.

BJ didn't look like himself. Didn't seem to have any spark to him.

Maybe it was the atmosphere I was in while watching, but I think this was one of the worst UFC I have personally watched. :( IMHO of course

i agree. Wasnt a very good ufc. The Couture V Toney fight was to predicatable... im still happy with the ending, I love couture and im sick of the anti UFC attitude alot of boxers have. BJ Penn just hasnt looked himself lately. Hasn't been putting in the same effort, keeps fighting other peoples fights instead of his own. Looking forward to thenext GSP fight and also Lesnar v Velasqez. Hope Lesnar loses, the guy has talent but i cant stand the personality and lack of respect he brings.

I think some of Lesnar's personality (or attitude, call it what you will) stems at least a little bit from his time the the WWE. Granted I haven't watched that for a good decade or more, and I can't remember what he was like then... but in that soap opera dedicated to the male viewer you had the good guys and the bad guys. They all had either wrestling talent, charisma, or a mix of the two.

People love to hate people, as much as I hate to say this, UFC needs him.

I think he's a worthless sack of disrespectful dog feces, and I want to see him get beat into a pulp. And the UFC keeps him for that exact reason, tons of people hate his guts and want him to get a beat down. They give him fights, we watch, because we want to see him lose, and he doesn't. So we are amped up for the next fight, and the next, just praying he gets beat like he owes someone money... JMO though

Ya i absolutely believe Lesnars attitude stems from his days in the WWF or E or whatever it is. But I just dont think that level of disrespect has a place in the UFC. Very few fighters show the level of disrespect he does and he has done it not only to his opponents but to his fans and sponsors as well. Dana White has taken him aside a few times and chewed his butt out for the way he was acting. Its all fine to trash talk and be passionate but theres a line and i just think he has crossed it to many times for me to have any respect for him. He is a great fighter and has lots of talent, and just sheer size and mass, but i have no respect for the man. You watch those UFC fights and alot of the fighters talk some trash here and there before the fight and hype it up and stuff but if you watch you will notice 90% of the time after the fight is over when the winner is interviewed they usually pay their respects to their opponent and such. Lesnar continues to disrepect his opponents and fans and sponsors after the fact and I think that is just showing no class.

Even though i hate the guy i do believe like you said UFC needs him, but he can still be the bad guy and the guy everyone loves to hate without being such a complete ass and having a complete lack of class or respect. That has a place in the WWE it doesn't have a place in the UFC. Nobody likes to see displays like that. Case in point look how pissed Dana White and all the fans were over how Silva acted in his fight where he was taunting the whole time and dancing around the ring. Even though he is an amazing fighter everyone lost a lot of respect for silva that day.

I was hoping Toney caught Couture with a quick one two a la Ray Mercer, when he KO'd Tim Sylvia.

I am and will always be Penn fan, but the last year he has just not been the same guy he was. Not sure where his killer instinct went, but he needs to get it back and soon.
He looks like he is always fighting hurt, like he has to protect something.....or maybe his body is just worn out.
Either way, he has given some great fights

I'm also a BJ Penn fan. Really dissapointed in his last couple of fights. I honestly just think that there is something about Edgar's movement that prevents Penn from defending from the takedowns and landing punches like he normally does. Got to give it to Frankie Edgar though, he looked really good as champ.
