Hi,
Quick question. I'm putting together a tupperdor and plan on using empty cedar cigar boxes to organize the sticks. Do I have to season the boxes before I use them?

Thanks.

I'd say probably not, but if they've been kept in a dry environment for any amount of time I might put them in the tupperdor (sans cigars) with my humidifier until the humidity stabilizes. Of course you could likely just fill 'em up and throw them in there without hurting anything.

I don't think it would be necessary, I'm just a little obsessive about some things.

I'm just a little curious about what size of tupperware your going to be using that will hold, from the sounds of it, multiple boxes?

Reason being large tupperware (if its like the bigger tubs we use for basement storage etc) usually does not have a very good seal. The smaller/medium sized food style containers do but usually not the large ones. Make sure you got a good seal or your going to fight the humidity constantly.

Not trying to rain on your parade at all. Just a thought to consider!

Actually, it's not THAT large. I could probably fit 2-3 boxes in it, so I'm guessing I should be okay.

Thanks, guys! :D
