I had a Troya Classico over the weekend.
OMG!! What a great cigar. I found out it
is a Nicaraguan puro blended by Pepin Garcia.
Very cubanesque.

F: Jalapa-grown Corojo and Criollo
W: Corojo Oscuro

Has anyone tried these.
My favorite up to date.

I've got one in the humi, will smoke it tomorrow and check that baby out! I have reservations with a Nording after supper.

I found the cigar to be way overpriced and the blandest of the Pepin blends to date. A do not buy in my book.

It was bland? Was it a classico? From my experience it wasn't bland at all.
Actually, it was very full flavored. I paid $9/stick for mine.

There is a huge difference between the regular troya line (which sucks) and the classicio line blended by pepin. The Classico i enjoyed very much

I don't think this is a bad smoke, just the $9 to $12 price tag for a Nicaraguan made Pepin puts it at the same price point as Tatuaje Browns and $3 to $4 more than the Tat Red, Pepin Blue or Black which IMHO are superior smokes for the money.

They have three sizes and the MSRPs are 8.50 for robusto, 8.80 for toro, and 9.50 for churchill.
I wouldn't say they are cheap but not too expensive either. I got a couple resting in my humi and I'm planning to torch one this weekend.

Honestly, I did not like this smoke very much. Bland, not exactly what I would call wholesale bland but it was not exactly a flavorful affair. Smoking this cigar does not make too much sense for the $$.

Just What I Think,

That $9 to $12 was with my state excise added in. Which puts this smoke at $3 to $4 more than any of the other Nicaraguan made Pepins.

I had just one and thought they were good - but pricey. IMHO, they kind of tasted like Pepin blended Padilla's for CI, which are $3 cigars.

I just smoked one of these at Havana Dreams, and I had the same exact sentiments. The nicotine is there, but the flavor is definitely lacking, however the middle third had some flavor. Emphasis on the word "some". Definitely not worth the price tag, and definitely not the hour and fifteen minutes I spent on it. A few dollar smore and I would have enough for a Signature 1932 or a Cojonu. Live and learn.
