This cigar was gifted to me by an amazing CP BOTL to celebrate my engagement. I ahd been saving it for a good moment. Seeing as how I've finished another school year, I figured that was good enough. Gator and I went to the shop the other day after work and we each took a Fundadore. He actually got his out of my Engaged Pass. Anyway, to the cigar:

Fantastic pre-light aroma. Lit beautifully. More than acceptable draw with a pretty good burn. The flavor was like nothing I had ever had before. A very flavorful yet smooth cigar. I spent the whole time admiring what an amazing cigar I was smoking. But alas, it had to finish some time. It was a very sad moment when I put down the half an inch that was left. In a word: SUBLIME.

The first time I had this was at the Richmond herf. I believe it was Devin who had gifted the 98 Trini to Leebo. We were all sitting around smoking cigars and BS'ing. I kept looking over a Lee every 5-10 minutes. He seemed to be pre-occupied. I commented a few times on how good it smelled, and asked him how the Trini was, and he just smiled and said good. Well Devin, being the fine brother that he is, reached deep in his Otterbox and pulled out its twin. I toasted it and smoked in silence. No, it wasn't silent on my account. The guys well talking and getting on, but the only thing I could hear is the cherry burning at the end of the cigar. In a word: SUBLIME.

Those of us that were at the Richmond Herf remember that well Emo. You just phased out with a glazed look in your eyes for the entire time you were smoking that Trini. :D

I had one of those once as well, as I recall, it was somebody's put in my pass. I smoked it at the Tapp Inn while herfing with Kenny, Mark and his Philly, my buddy TommyRox and my brother LuckyDawg. I was drinking Baley's with it. I was sufficiently zoned on it. That cigar is one of few that have actually transported me. :0

Very good smokes

Just received a 98' in a trade w/ surferonthecrystalcoast. Letting it acclimate right now and plan to bring it back to the Adirondack's for our upcoming vacation in two weeks.

I can't agree more. Definitely one of my all time favorites  and I still have one more! :D

The 1998 Trini I had a month or so ago was just kind "blah" -- not bad, but nothing to write home about. Apparently I was robbed. Dammit.

the few that I have had, were both good and not so.

more often than not it was an awesome smoke.
the one bad time it was plugged and like drinking a milkshake with a tiny straw, tho I have been told that this happens with smaller r.g. cigars.

all in all a great smoke.
