Trick or Treat Brown Bags?

I keep seeing these terrible deals on all the cigar sites (Thompson Cigars, Cigar International, Cigar.com, JR Cigars ect) that are advertising a "premium" bag of smokes for a small price.

Now I realize these are garbage, but wouldn't it be nice if something halfway legit actually existed like this?

And that thought there had me thinking... what if we did something like this on Cigar Pass? I know I've got a range of some premiums and some cheapo's that I'd be willing to toss into a brown bag and send to a fellow brother of the leaf. Has a halloween style trick or treat deal like this ever been struck? Obviously there's the Newbie sampler trade for the new folks (which isn't a gamble at all) that gives you this type of excitement, but where is one gambler such as myself to go once he's already completed the newbie trade?

This is not a ISO, more just looking to see if any of the veterans around here have hosted or done some trade or contest or something like this in the past.

Just curious!

Do a little bit of searching on "grab bag" sales.  They've gone well, they've gone not well as recently as just a few weeks ago.  It can get messy.  Search it out, it just tends to be a "tricky" (pun intended?) situation.

If its a contest that is another story, and things like that have been done before, but you also have to be weary of it looking like you're just trying to dump off cheaper sticks on people.  Communication of your exact intentions is always the best route.  If its a sale, stating exactly what you're selling is required.  If its a contest, be clear that its a contest and whoever wins may get a vast assortment, some good, some not so good.

Read, search, enjoy, etc!

See search for disastrous brown bag results.
See attuck.

Doesn't seen to go well.

The Newbie sampler is not a gamble, and as has been stated, brown bags have a terrible track record.

That's what I've noticed.

And my newbie sampler trade was freaking excellent! Just flat out awesome! It's the very joy of having such an excellent experience that makes me want to do a contest or something like that for halloween.

I wanted to feel the pulse of the population before attempting anything in either buy/sell or contest threads.

Thank you Doc, this is great info! I'll keep it in mind depending on which route I go, if it seems to be something people would take to. I agree that even if I do it, I'll want to be clear so that people know what they're potentially getting. It'd be easy to be wary of a bag of smokes from someone whose completed only a handful of trades, like myself.
