Hello,
I have a 16 ct cooler. It is powered off and is running about 75. I have a half pound bag of heartfelt beads. Can you think of way to reduce this? I am sure that I should be concerned that it is this high.

Thanks

Is it empty? If so once you get some boxes in there I sure that will suck some of the humidiy out of the unit.

yea empty boxes are impossible to regulate. plus they're no fun.

I have the opposite problem with my 48 count..I can't keep the Rh up to 65% so I just bought a pound of 70% beads and put them in there last night with a pound of 65% beads that I've had in there. So we'll see what happens.

But do your beads have the correct moisture in them?

Just makes this clear, 75% humidity, right?

Is the cooler empty?
If theres sticks in there how many?
You said 8-9 boxes? Empty or full?

If the answer to everything is empty, don't worry too much. When you fill it up the cigars will balance everything out. How long has your cooler been seasoned for?

Once you get some cigars and boxes and what not in there you'll get a better idea of the true RH. But your beads should be DRY if your RH is higher than you want it to be. Also try more beads... again, dry.

I have a 32 bottle and the RH was at 70 no matter what I did... full, empty, etc. I contacted Viper who said to run the beads totally try and put more in than I think I need. Now, while it stays close to 70 near the top area of the cooler, the bottom half runs at 65% or a tad lower which is perfect.

So how many pounds of beads you running with right now? I have a 28 bottle unit that I am setting up for the first time. I am starting out with a pound and a half of beads. I am planning to let it stablized over the next few days before filling it up.

You may want to get another 1/2 pound of beads.

Okay....I actually have another pound and half in reserves. So I am good to go. Thanks for the advice.

First of all I misspoke haha, I also have a 28 bottle, not a 32 bottle.

At this point I'm running 1.5 lbs. of 65% beads but like I said the humidity in there is already in the upper 60's so I'm just using the beads to stabilize it. For these you generally need 1.5 to 2 lbs. from what I've read on these forums.

I have 1 1/2 pounds in the vinotemp right now. I am running two digital hygrometers. The one on the lower level is reading about 68% - 69%. The one on the lower lever is reading about 56%-58%. Right now I have one oust fan in the bottom level. I was thinking about putting another one in as I know they don't move a lot of air. I just don't want to get into drilling holes and wiring fans. I also still have another half pound of beads. I was thinking of putting these in smaller bowls and storing them in the higher levels of the unit (once my drawers comes). I am not terribly worried at this point but I would like to get a little more humidity flowing up top.

Edited to fix typos and such..

Have a vinotemp running as well. I have 1.5 lbs of heartfelt 65% beads on the bottom level and have 1 tube of beads in the top 2 drawers/levels as well. I also had a humidity differential from top to bottom but the addition of the tubes to the drawers now has both top and bottom of the vinotemp running at 66% humidity.

Great. I think I will split the half pound I have left and put some in at least the two top drawers. Thanks for the tip. Wish I had a couple empty tudes. I am sure I can find something around the house.
