So as far as I'm concerned Graycliffs are pretty hit or miss (especially when made outside their factory). That said, JoeCigar.com has this Platinum Edicion Limitado for pretty dang cheap today. The "hits" they put out I really enjoy though (namely the double espresso and the grand cru) so I don't wanna miss out on this deal if it's a potential win.
Any info if you've had one or heard would be great!

Don't really see how you can go wrong at 3.75 a cigar. Worse case you have some yard gars.

OK... well I bit in the end! I warn ya'll. You'll be waitin' awhile. I have a relatively strict 2-week re-rehabilitate rule for shipped smokes.

All I know is that I'm pretty sick of seeing the Edicion Limitado bands on non-Cuban cigars.

The Red Label is the worst cigar they make. Putting L.E. or E.L. on the label doesn't help. Run away! Run away!

It appears that despite the red band the two cigars have little in common though. If you look at info the two have absolutely no similarities in composition. While the red is indo/indo/equador, honduras, dominican, and nicaraguan (wrapper/binder/filler) this platinum limitado is brazilian/dominican/all nicaraguan. So I think the band color might have been a misnomer here for comparison?
Upon closer look too, it's not the same band anyways. One is red and platinum, one is red and gold. That said, this is a minor detail but still I think hints at the difference hidden within. That said, they could have done a better job hinting at it IMO.
But, taste will tell!

Bah hahahaha. And now the Crystal Limitado is on Joe's Jambalaya! I think I may have to pass on this one though... 10 Graycliff Limitados is enough to last me a good while... last thing I need is to throw another $40 at Graycliff. Kinda wish I'd gone for these and could pass on the Red Limitados though. Oh well.

Yes, I've played with this too. I had a batch of DEs go beetle on me from them. They replaced them. I now freeze Graycliff's from them 100% of the time and keep them isolated in a DMZ humidor for a good awhile after that as well. That said, I DMZ everything that comes in for a couple weeks anyways. But yeah, the Graycliffs get the added freeze treatment.

I don't see how a cheap cigar is worth so much worry and time. I can do without Graycliff.
