Hello everyone,

I believe I *may* have gotten my Hydra under control. Hopefully I won't come home again tomorrow and see the humidity at 80% while the hydra thinks its 60% again :0

Anyways, for those of you who have purchased this unit along with the optional fan, I have a few questions:

1. How have you affixed it to the humidor wall?
2. Which side is facing away from the wall (the side with the sticker, or the other?)
3. How much room is there between the wall and the fan?*

*I ask this because I'm afraid if I suck air from the middle of the humidor and shoot it out towards the wall, that portion of the wall may become highly humidified and grow mold.

Any insight is appreciated,
Daniel

I have a Hydra in a 250-ish stick desktop humidor. It is in the rear right corner with the power cord connection towards the back wall, one side is near the humidor wall, and the other near a divider. There is about 0.5" of space around the unit except for the front which has several inches. I have a Hydra auxiliary fan running off the unit as well. It is placed on the other side of the box facing up.

I use distilled water only in the Hydra and have had no issues in about 3 months of use. IMO it is superior to the Oasis I have in my smaller desktop. It seems to keep my humidor in a smaller RH range and is fairly true to a pair of salt tested Hygrometers I keep inside that box.
