Gentleman,

DLD has been announced.

DarkLord Day 2008 Saturday April 26th 11Am-10:30pm AT THREE FLOYDS BREWING Co & BREWPUB 9750 INDIANA PKWY MUNSTER,IN 46321

DarkLord Day 2008 is the only day of the year to buy Three Floyds DarkLord Russian Imperial stout. DLD is a festival where participants can meet other beer enthusiasts, sample beers from all over ,buy DarkLord, try Oak Aged Dark Lord Russian Imperial Stout ,eat BBQ, Listen to live music.

Darklord Day 2008 will be greatly improved to accommodate larger crowds, including expanded parking, more porta johns, shorter lines and more food choices


Some background info on Dark Lord Imperial Stout.
-Three Floyds Brewing Co.
-Russian Imperial Stout
-13% ABV
-brewed with coffee,vanilla and molasses


I plan on arriving about 9AM to try and secure a spot in line.
After we have collected our DL we can hang out and herf.
If anyone wants to tailgate, grill food, smoke cigars and most importantly drink BEER ( not the DLD thats to be coveted and enjoyed) POST IN THIS THREAD.
 
I am trying to make it but its up in the air right now, 50/50. If I can't make it I will need to bribe one of you into bringing a friend along to get some extra DL. I will of course pay handsomely, Timmy, Keith, Alex?!? :whistling:
 
I WILL be there... the is NO doubt

As far as sharing my stock (limit of 6 per person) ... It will have to be a HEAFTY bribe.

Not sure if Jenn will go again this year, the "cattle herd" was a bit much last year, but if she does, a 6'er will be available.
 
If anyone get's extra of this I might give my first born for it. LOL. Let me know.

I'm gonna try to make it. I was sad I missed it last year. The Brewery is in my home town.
 
I am putting it on the calendar. How does the line work? Do you actually stand in one, or do they hand out numbers?
 
Everyone gathers around the freight dock, then that mass somehow turns into 2 lines.

this is a pic of when I got out of the line; (of which I stood in line for 2 hours before I got my 12 pack) What you can't see is the end of the line which was approx 2 blocks away.

Holy Cow! How early do you have to get there to not be two blocks away? Are people cool such that it works out without too much hassle?

It is a great, highly coveted beer that is only released once a year at the brewery. Its cigar equivalent would be something like the DCA, limited quantity and hard to find.

Well since all of you greedy bastards were going to bogart the the liquid love that is Dark Lord, I have confirmed and will be attending to ensure I get my share! Flying into Midway Friday the 25th with 2 buddies and staying until Sunday the 27th. We are staying at the Hampton on Calumet. I heard it is just down the street from FFF which is essential as driving will not be an option. :sign:

This hotel is right down the street (5min drive) 1.5 miles from 3 Floyds.
Book quick as they only have 91 rooms and 2 of them are already booked .LOL!!

We might as well make an event of it.
Friday night probably meet up for dinner in Munster.

-Charlies Ale house
-3 FLoyds BrewPub
-Red Lobster
-Chilis
-etc etc.

Sat get up early in the Am to wait in Line and tailgate the rest of the day.

Here is my flight info. I am flying in with two buddies and we are renting a car @ Midway. We have room for one more if anyone is planning to make the trip and would like to ride along. We are planning to do dinner and cigars on Friday night for those of you who would like to join us in exploring the metropolis of Munster, IN. :whistling:

Has anything been decided on what we're gonna do Friday night?

I'll be flying into Midway at 2:08pm on Friday. I'm staying in Des Plaines at the Extendedstay because I'm a tight ass and that was the closest hotel to FFF I could find for a good price on Priceline. I'm renting a car though, so I'm fine with wherever.

We are talking about the Ohare airport area. Look for something closer.
You are lookingat about a 1.5 hr drive

Doesn't matter how far it is on a map. In Chicago it's all about the traffic.

But Ohare, an hour to Munster in good traffic, plus tolls.
