:) I purchased this humidor a couple of months ago. I have had it long enough to tell what I think of it.

Shortfalls:

1. The back inside wall is not cedar, looks like a maple veneer. The doors also do not have any cedar on them.

2. The inside shelf is not adjustable.

3. There is a foam tape seal around the inside of the cabinet where the doors meet the cabinet. Im concerned that it will wear and need replacement.

4. The outside finish is a cherry veneer.

Positives:

1. Price was only $389.00. Built very well, heavy, tight corners etc.

2. The top which opens like a desktop humi is perfectly excuted. It makes a vacuum sound when opening and closing.

3. Top section is 100% spainish cedar and roomy for at least 150 loose various sized cigars. Bottom has enough cedar to satisfy.

4. Even though the bottom has the foam tape around the door opening it apears to seal that section very well also.

5. There are 6 areas set up inside to hold extra large humidfiers which came with the unit along with a digital and analog hygormiters. I used them in both the top section together and then the bottom section to verify thier accuracy. Both were right on. I have the digital now on top and the analog below.

6. The bottom currently has 17 boxes and 4 bundles in it ( coronas, robustos, lonsdales and churchills etc.) . I have room for another 3 or 4 boxes and 4 or so bundles. It holds more than they advertise.

7. The best part is it holds the humidity very well. It hovers around 72% on top and 70% on the bottom. I have to refill the humidifiers about once a month. By the way I live in a relativly hummid area in upstate NY which probably helps.

8. Very very heavy duty beveled glass.

9. Full locking capability.

10. Shipping was 5 days, on a pallet well packed. Not much chance for dammage during transit.

Overall I must admit that I am pleased with this product. I had some serious concerns considering the source. For the money I would recomend this product considering you get evrything you need at no addition cost.

I hope someone who has been considering this purchas finds this usefull. :whistling:

Nice review! Personally, I've been eye-balling this one for a while...looks like a pretty good deal.

Humidor

I would recommend this oneVerona one I have its flat topped counter part Tower and I love it. Not a bad deal, not an aristocrat or anything but definitely a solid piece of work that is really nice until I can come up with some small fortune.

Thats pretty damn nice looking... for a thompson.

It’s a $650 value, yours here for just $389; that’s almost a 50% reduction on this humidor that allows you to proudly display your puros while keeping them in maximum security. -Thompson's advertisement for this humi

Try 40% off...

Thompson's sucks; shitty prices, nasty tobacco products, annoying customer service and deceptive advertizing. But enjoy the humi regardless.

Thanks for the review on this humi.

I've been eyeing this exact one for when I get home, we'll see.

Thank you for the review.

I don't see the door seal as a big issue. Or the lack of cedar on the rear wall and doors. Both for the same reason - it's used to store boxes. It just has to be able to regulate humidity and the door isn't opened that often if you keep the top stocked with your usual smokes. So the seal should last a good while before replacement is necessary.

I like the fact that the top seals well, though. If you want more spanish cedar odor in the bottom, a sheet of fresh, weeping stuff could be stored behind the boxes giving it a strong cedar odor you wouldn't get from seasoned cedar anyway. I use it in my coolers and they smell stronger than my humis. My .02 :D

Yeah Thompson's sorta crappy imo, but I did buy their 40 count humi that came with two bundles of their junk. Hated the cigars, but love the little humi. I've had it for 3 years and never had any trouble with it. Very solidly built. You could probably find their humis cheaper elsewhere but those damn catalogs are just so enticing. If they spent as much money on their product as they did for the advertising they'd be top dog!

I agree Vortex, I already put 2 peices on the back wall. As for Thomp#$@*'s they are the worst. Thier own label stuff are dog rockets and the brand name stuff is priced at retail.
