Well, since the wife was away on business (to New Orleans, Psyktek - hint hint) I had a few extra smokes this week. As always, I don't get the benefit of being able to tell each subtle flavor in a cigar, although I think I'm getting better? But I do know what I like...
Diamond Crown Maximus Toro #4
Not a bad cigar... smoke volume was lower than I'd like, but the taste was nice- fairly even flavor thruout the cigar, ash was a nice light grey and held on nice. Draw was a little on the tight side, and burn was even and consitant. Almost had a peppery finsh to it?

Wow... I'd have to call this a rather spicy flavor! very nice indeed. Draw was even and just like I like it. Burn was good- started a little uneven but straightened out on its own. Ash was a nice light, light grey and stayed on exceptionally well. Again, the smoke was a lower volume than I'd like, but it had a nice aroma to it. I could smell the spiciness!

MonteCristo #2 ISOM
Smooth cigar, but another with low smoke output. Taste was smooth, and decent enough. But this is the 2nd Monte #2 that I've had that had a plug or tight spot in it... gentle massaging helped a little, but not until it burned past the spot (with extra help) did it really start to be a nice cigar. Ash was a medium grey and stayed on fairly well.

Nice smoke! A strong cigar, much like the Hoyo de Nicaragua, only better flavor. This had a lot of smoke, which I like, and the flavor almost had chocolaty tones to it? Very smooth cigar, and got a nice buzz from it. very even burn, and ash was a meduim grey that stayed on ok- a few 'drop offs'. Not too crazy about the chisel tip however...

Ok- right off I didn't like this cigar. First taste I got was of coffee or expresso beans, and I am not a coffee fan! Don't drink the stuff, and never will. Otherwise, smoke was a little light in volume, draw was slightly tight, and the ash was light grey and stayed on well - burn was even. A nice cigar if you like the flavor - which I didn't! First cigar that I got that disticnt tashe from, and I only smoked bout 1/3 before I put it down.

Didn't get far on this one, and not the cigar's fault- had a margarita with it, and for whatever reason it gave me terrible heartburn (no, it was not cheap tequila - although it could have been too much tequila!) will have to try again...
not rated due to very VERY little of it smoked before I had to, um, go back inside.
figured I'd post a summary of the smokes instead of many individual postings so I don't become a
more than I already am!
