I can't believe this asshat is going to try and sell the 40th Anniversay Padrons at over 2x what they are worth. There are scumbags in the world and people looking to make some money. Hell he could have atleast waited a few years and then sell it. This is just disgraceful and should be taken down! The nerve of some people!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...6125054249&rd=1

And with only 7 feedbacks! This fella needs a reality check!

But man that is a pretty humidor  Too bad the racks are shaped like a torpedo, won't get any use for any other cigar.

I was under the impression that the bands would be unique to the 40th anniversary. Have you seen the ones from the group buy yet?

Ric I have no clue if it is or if it isn't. Don't have a '26 to compare it to anyway. The cigars should be shipped Monday by Jason  So I'll tell ya Friday :sign:

Edit - I looked at the 40th Anni. cigars seen at the RTDA:

About half way down the page and the ones from ebay are missing the second band. Can anyone confirm that the ones released have a second band?

Wow, why so angry?! :0 :p If I can sell stuff on eBay for 2x what I paid, I do it too.

Simple economics....if no one is willing to pay that much they won't. That will be his reality check  (and then having to pay the auction fees associated with listing a $3,000 auction).

Just a question: if he started it at $100 and the bidding escalated to $3,000 at auction's end, would he still be a scumbag for taking the amount of money a bidder was willing to pay for it? How is that different than if a single bidder is willing to make a bid for $3,000 when itr starts at $3,000?

Cheers,
Dixie

If he gets the $3k for it...he gets it...if he does not, he does not...peoples values of items vary from person to person. I would not pay $3k for it, but there is nothing stopping someone else from paying $3k if they feel it was worth it.

Another item is that this person is violating Ebay's rules with selling tobacco.

Fewer idiots involved? :p

No second band. I wondered about this myself. They have the normal '26 band.

Thanks for the clarification Jason. I wonder why they would go all out on this cigar and not include a special band for it. ??? May'be bad presentation on Padron's part?

The only pictures I've seen with bands are from RTDA. Every pictured I've seen of cigars people actually bought have no second band.

<we need a shrug smiley>

As Moki points out, my box of 40th Anni Orps did not come wiht a second band. I've seen 2 other boxes in person and neither have a second band. I've sent out a few investigative e-mails and will update all if I hear anything about the bands.

I would call Padron and go straight to the source Marito.
At this point I would be concerned if it didn't have the second band.

I'm definately not concerned...my box was shipped direclty from Padron. I've sent an e-mail to Jorge Padron to inquire about the bands.

I agree with Ric, a call to Padron is the only safe way to go here.

Rudy Padron told Ric and I that the bands were being made somewhere else (Holland) just for the 40th ann. sticks. I can only assume that means they are different than the other Padron bands. Unfortunately he only showed us an empty box and not the actual cigars or bands so I don't know for sure.

Rudy told us that they have sold over 1,000 boxes so far but they only have 400 made. He also said they have only shipped 10 boxes at this point.

Let us know what the reply is.

That's definitely the best way to go. Enjoy your stogies!

Just heard back from Jorge Padron. Here is the quote from his e-mail:

"Hello John,

Thanks for your e-mail.
The second band on the 40th Anniversary was not scrapped. We simply did not have the bands in time for the release of those few initial boxes that were shipped. You have one the the first 30 boxes that were shipped worldwide."

Too bad...I would have liked the band...but I also like having the sticks already.

Makes sense; thanks for following up, Marito.
