The true nature of the hunter!

Now thats where the frase "locking horns" comes from. They looked like they might have gone at it until one of them broke the others neck.

That hunter is just plain lame. If I were hunting, because I haven't, I'd want to have the easiest kill possible to feel good about myself. But if this is a trained hunter, what a loser. As for the deer fighting, deer will mess you up or each other, they can get so aggressive. Pretty crazy, they're clearly exhausted at the point of filming.

Did you watch the whole video? Their horns were locked together so tightly that they couldn't get them apart. If not, one of the bucks would have given up and retreated long before they reached that level of exhaustion. It's likely that they would have both died from dehydration had he not shot the antler of one. Very few real hunters would want to harvest a buck that way. I think shooting off the antler was a great outcome. I wonder if he would have thought of that if he hadn't seen a similar video.

Both bucks were saved, he didn't kill one. Watch the whole video.

Ahhhh, gotcha, then that is sweet and I retract my earlier comment. I watched the whole video the first time, but because they cut to the one dear getting up, then the other, I thought it was just one deer surviving. Now, taking out an antler, even from that distance, with the deer still struggling, that is impressive.

Very cool video and one hell of a nice shot. He did an honorable thing by not shooting either one. I'm not sure I could have pass up the opportunity. Lots of good meat there and a nice rack to boot.

We found two deer skulls with their horns locked together on our ranch. I guess they got stuck together and died. My dad has them on display in their living room. Pretty cool find but sucks for the deer.

Pretty cool that he shot the smaller of the two racks! And that requires good shooting but also knowing ballistics because he would have had to make a visual adjustment due to trajectory, or lack thereof, at that short distance.
