Well guys, I am currently chilling, waiting for the primer to dry in my smoking shack. I am super excited, because I got up this morning and busted my butt all day to get my very own smoking room done today. I installed a vent system, fixed the electrical, and now have begun painting (the color of guiness cream and black trim) We are installing a mini fridge and a coffee maker on tuesday and most importantly next month......THE HUMIDOR!!!!!!! Just below the bar area is a small recess in the wall, and I am insulating it, and lining it with spanish cedar, then I am going to attach a front covering so it fits nice and snug, and then cover that with a mirrir, so no one will know my smokes are hiding back there. Does anyone else have their own room, and what's it like...any suggestions for mine? And do you think that the beads would work best for humidification?

Pics my man, we need pics to make any usefull suggestions. Sounds pretty good though.

sounds awesome! What kind of vent system did you install? I'll have a smoking room in the basement of my new house which is set to begin in May. I need to figure out a ventilation system of some sort. And lets see pics!

Sounds like a swell room. However, pictures of the finished product will be required if you are to remain in good standing here ;)

I smoke in my finished basement. No need for any ventilation, I just use hepa filters. You'd never know I smoked in the house.

The basement is large 26x30 and one of those Honeywell hepafilters (from HomeDepot) works fine.

Sounds pretty cool man.Beads would work but i think a Large oasis would probably be less work in the case of a room.JMO.

Right on! I sure don't want to lose my good standing! We were just about done spraying it down with the primary paint when I thought about pictures, So unfortunately, you won't get to see it in it's completely unfinished state... but, I will update starting from here on out. I am wanting to buy beads for my desk humi, so I might as well buy some for the shack too. The ventilation system is pretty basic. Above the couch is a window air unit, so we cut out above that and installed a two way fan. It's working well too, because we used it to help the paint dry. I am also going to get a filter. After a little thought, we decided not to put in carpet...instead, on tuesday night, I am going to sand the hardwood floor and seal it. I also made an important decision tonight while I was working....first of all, I am NOT going to smoke out there again until I am totally finished with it. That way, I will appreciate it more when it's done. Secondly, the first smoke I'm going to have will be cuban. No if's ands or buts...period, exclamation mark. There should be a law against breaking in your smoking room any other way. Thanks for all your input..pics coming soon.

Opus... Pics would be excellent once complete, as I'm soon (meaning 6 - 8 months out) going to embark on a similar task.

I'll check the boards for your postings.

Good luck.

Rob, I'm afraid pics won't be good enough. No, I believe John and I will have to come check this out in person. You know, on behalf of CP and all. :p

Man this sounds like a great idea! Atmosphere plays a big part in enjoying a quality cigar, IMO. :)

Ok but to complete this you MUST have one of those big wooden indian statues in this place... ;)
