hello everyone,
this is the early edition of this week's Saturday Evening Smoke.
as i stated last week, davidoff had another chance.
did it redeem itself? ABSOLUTELY NOT. i had all the same problems with the diademas finas that i did with the double R but to a slightly lesser extent. the wrapper unravelling, the loose draw, poor construction, hard time keeping it lit, etc were all there. i would give this cigar a D rating (with the double R being an F).
again, i cannot recommend that any spend their hard-earned cash on these davidoff monstrosities. i have two other varieties of davidoff cigars that i WILL NOT be trying as i have already given them a second chance and written them off for good. there are too many other good cigars for me to waste my time on these. i can't even bring myself to SELL the remaining ones to some poor old sap as i can't live with a guilty conscience.
that being said, i will probably donate them in the hopes that others will have better luck with them and MIGHT actually enjoy them.
in conclusion, i would get much more satisfaction by rolling up a $20 bill and watching it burn than i got with this stinker of a stogie.
i am anticipating next week as i will be trying the hemmingway classic (with its cameroon wrapper, yum).
remember that this is my opinion and it is worth what you paid for it, maybe even less than that.
thanks,
mike
