Well, my 16yo daughter was sent to take her 10yo sister to ballet practice then go to drum practice, then pick her her back up and come home. Evidently the Young Life director that is teaching her drums couldn't make it, so, in her great 16yo wisdom, she decided to pick up a friend and take a little joy ride down a dirt road, and promptly let it get away from her on a curve and smashed a tree.

Luckily, her and her friend were not harmed at all (they both were wearing seat belts), but it appears my Titan isn't so lucky, most likely totaled. Oh, and to top it off, Friday night she was at a intersection and was smashed into by a hit and run. Our Armada is in the shop now also.

Needless to say after this latest episode, she's not driving by herself for awhile (and actually not leaving the house xcept for school and ballet for awhile)
 
Damn Frank, sorry to hear about this. At least no one was hurt though!
 
It is good to hear that even though judgment might have slipped, they were smart enough to wear the safety belts.
Good to hear that no one was hurt. But I am real sorry about the truck.

Glad to know if I ever get in a wreck I'm safe. I drive an '05 Titan and we take our daughter in it frequently.

I'm also very glad to hear your baby is ok. If that happened to me, she wouldn't EVER leave my sight again. Best wishes to you and your family Frank.

Glad to hear the little ones are ok. Trucks and other things can be replaced.

But I would still ground the hell out of her. I had trucks all my life and never went 4 wheeling with my daily driver. Too easy to break things and then you have to pay to fix it. My parents taught me that very young.

You can replace the vehicles! I think someone needs additional driver's ed. Good to hear she is was unharmed.
 
Ouch.

I'm starting to think that the 16 year-old drivers license isn't such a good idea after all.

Damn! I'm glad she's okay. I bet at first you wanted to hug her and then kill her.

My stepdaughters dad promised her a convertible when she turns sixteen if she does not smoke. :rolleyes:

Mom has already given the over my dead body ultimatum. I already have my bets placed on who the winner will be. :laugh:

First of all......Frank, I am really glad they are okay! Damn that makes me sick to think about it!

John, just take the stepdaughter out and get her hooked on cigars :D

Having been a volunteer firefighter for the better part of 15 years, I can tell you that its almost always better to be bigger..
 
Yeah, it's hard to be angry at 1st, you're so glad they're ok. Now though, that's worn off, and the hammer is falling, they'll one day get that bad decisions have bad consequences and (hopefully) start thinking before they act, at least a little anyway.

I damn sure needed a cigar last night (especially now that i very rarely imbibe), but by the time we got in and kids settled, it was too late. Tonight, i'm gonna smoke like a rock star.

Happy to hear they are OK, could have been worse. Heck, you may have done worse at that age, I know I did. But in the end, they need to learn that they have to pay for their mistakes, be it grounded or paying the deductible.

Consider this, big Nissans might be invisible, hence the 2 wrecks. :sign:

Good gosh, that's a scary wreck!

I'm glad to hear that your girls are ok.

I did pretty much the same thing to my dad's Oldsmobile when I first got my license at 16. Only difference was he was in the car with me. :(
