I can only speak for myself on this...

I see some good quality smokes mixed in with some bad/budget smokes. I'm not big on bundled/budget cigars so these would annoy me and will be the determining factor in my non-purchase, but if you are okay with them...it's a good deal. Not a FANTASTIC deal, but a good deal.

-Aaron

(not sure if that helps...but I hope it provides some help)

I agree with Aaron, I'll take the following off of your hands -

CAO Maduro Robusto Maduro
Camacho Triple Mad 50/4.5 Maduro
Olde World Reserve Robusto Maduro
Oliva Serie G Robusto Maduro
Padron 3000 Maduro
Torano Signature Robusto Maduro
1990 Robusto Maduro 5 1/2 x 50

You can keep the rest! :sign:

There's a bunch other great samplers, save your loot and look around.

For what it's worth:

1 601 Habano Oscuro Green Tronco Oscuro 5 x 52
This is excellent - I actually smoked the Green Tronco last night, to celebrate my Green Card. Call the "promo value" - the best price you can find on this particular smoke - at $4.

1 Padron 3000 Maduro 5 1/2 x 52
1 Torano Signature Robusto Maduro 5 X 52
1 Vintage 1990 Robusto Maduro 5 1/2 x 50

All of these I've smoked and good to excellent. Especially the Torano, which is the cheapest of the three. Pungent, though. You can stink up your house for days if you, oh, smoke it downstairs, next to the central air. Not that I'd know or anything. Call it $4 for these as well.

1 CAO Maduro Robusto Maduro 5 X 50
1 Camacho Triple Mad 50/4.5 Maduro 4 1/2 x 50
1 Olde World Reserve Robusto Maduro 5 1/2 X 54
1 Oliva Serie G Robusto Maduro 4 1/2 x 50

Good to excellent reviews on these but I haven't had one yet. Call their average "real" value around $3 (i know the OWR's more and the Serie G's less, but for the sake of argument.

1 Saint Luis Rey Rothchilde (nc) Maduro 5 x 54

SLR's have star-quality reviews but I think they've moved production a few times. No clue about the current-era ones. But probably at least good. Call it $2.

1 Olor Fuerte Robusto Dark Nat 5 x 50
1 Rocky Patel CubanBlend Robusto Maduro 5 1/2 x 50

These are famous in-house brands. But not half bad, and I've had both. The Olor Fuerte's an Oliva product, and is made in the Oliva house style (good body, roasted aroma, smooth). Call it $2 each.

1 Cuvee 151 Robusto Maduro 5 X 50
1 La Floridita Limited Robusto Maduro 5 X 60

And no idea about either of these. La Floridita is a bundled smoke. It's probably something that Famous buys for $15 per hundred as a line end or overrun. Could be adequate, could be fertilizer. Call them 0 - you don't know, you don't necessarily care. Nice surprise if they turn out, no skin off your back if they don't.

So, we have $4+$16+$12+$2+$4=$38 - in other words, the best price you could possibly get for these sticks, in samplers or discounted box purchase, is at least $38. So it's a "good deal", assuming you want all of them; if they're sticks you really want, raise their "value" to average boxed price; if they're sticks you don't want, they're worth $0 to you. That's what a good deal is - not whether they're a savings off MSRP, but what you get out of the deal.

Thanks for all the info on them.
So after all it doesn't sound that good of a price.
I think I might try it after all because of the variety of cigars and
according to you there's some good cigars among this sampler.
Maybe I'll like some of them.
Thanks.

The key here is smoke what you like. While most of us regard this as a mix of ok with not so ok cigars, get the sampler and see what you like of it. Stick to fivers until you hit one you really like, then buy a box. Does Israel hit you with fees as the cigars make it through customs?

Does Israel hit you with fees as the cigars make it through customs?

Of course they do(70% tax) for imported cigars and tobacco.
The key is to do everything that they will not catch the package.
Its also depend on the source if he's willing to help. :whistling:

If I may add my 2 cents...

Olor Fuerte is not an Oliva product. It was originally made by US Cigar before the company was taken over by General. It is still being made at the same factory in Honduras under different management. Interesting to note that Jesus Fuego was involved in a collaborative effort to blend the cigar for us back then before he started working for Rocky Patel. He subsequently took off on his own early last year.

Olor Nicaraguan is made for us by Oliva.

Cuvee is a Cusano brand. Currently, they have three lines... Cuvee Blanc (Mildest), Cuvee Rouge (Middle of the road), Cuvee 151 (Full bodied)

La Floridita, as stated, is a bundled cigar. It was originally a closeout cigar we procured from the Tambor factory in Costa Rica several years ago. They were Bahias. The bundle took off like a rocket and we saw we had a brand we could work with. Before we ran out of cigars, we contacted a few cigar makers to duplicate the blend as best as could be done and came up with a winner from the Plasencia plant. The bundled product is still going strong today.

La Floridita Limited Edition, however, is a boxed product. It is a completely different blend using more refined tobacco. We've received rave reviews about the brand since its introduction last November. This is the cigar featured in the sampler mentioned above.

Cheers!!

For what it's worth the Camacho Triple Maduro is more like a $10 cigar...

I have had most of these at one time or another and the ones in red are the only ones worth smoking again. Maybe that is why they only give you one in each sampler at some of these online deals ... they know you would never smoke the second one.

The ones in blue I have not tried. The others either were bad or I was not impressed with them. Two that stand out that were not bad just not impressive were the 601 and the Camacho. The bad ones were the La Flordita, CAO Maduro and the Olor.

Just my opinion though.

Fair enough. Thanks for your response. We can't please everyone. Cigar smokers tend to be.... um.... picky.

I enjoyed the 601 Green but personally prefer the Blue band. Camacho Triple Maddies didn't do it for me either but there's a huge demand for it otherwise.

Are you sure you tried the La Floridita Limited or was it the original bundled version? They are completely different cigars.

Cuvee 151 and the RP Cuban Blend have been well received.

The sale is over on this sampler but they are offering an inside special on it this month for people calling in their orders. (Not online).

Cheers!!
