That the way to do it is to have one to three go-to smokes, and then a small selection of select special occasion cigars.

In my case I would have some Padron 2000 or Delicias in Maduro, and some JR Ultimate Cabinets. Then some Opus X, maybe Aurora Preferidos, and perhaps a box of some Cuban brand, like Vegas Robaina.

I think I could be perfectly happy with that selection for years.

The reason I say this is I had a Padron 2000 maduro last night and to me at that time it was hands down the best cigar I had ever smoked. This is what got me thinking about this.

No this would not make me popular at herfs, but I think I would be happy.

The Padron 2000 is main stable of mine, and I just recently discovered the JR Ultimate Cabinets and how great it is. For me I'm always smoking the "budgets" gars and I don't think I ever touch my premiums. They are more like baseball cards to me. I just like to collect them.

The padron is also a main stay here except the 6000. i think with me its whatever im in the mood for so a bigger selection is in order. for the expensive stuff i smoke a few a week so i keep that area supplied as well.

I am so glad that someone (probably more than one person) recommended the regular Padron line in Maduro. What awesome cigars.

Hey take some of those really expensive cigars out of the humi and smoke them also.

I have a limited number of go to cigars and many that are "in the collection" for special times. The last two days were pretty heavy smoking days. 10 cigars in all and it is not over. Unfortunately the go to cigars have been a little too heavily weighted toward the aged Cuban side. I have to resist the dark side in favor of one of my normal go to's...CAO Brazilia, a recent favorite.

brazilia and italia gotta love um CAO whore here though, umm and padron and fuente....da#n im just a sucker for a good cigar. :whistling:

I have only been doing this for a few months but I find this smoking hobby oddly similar to a different smoking hobby I had as a teenager. At the time I enjoyed the trading, purchasing, selling, handling and the paraphernalia as much as I enjoyed the smoking. With cigars I seem to enjoy the trading, trying to find the best deals, collecting, handling and just plain looking at them as much as I enjoy smoking them.

I had a hobby like that once...Im pretty sure a direct consequence of that hobby is my appreciation for Floyd.

If this were like baseball cards I have smoked a few Hank Aarons  .
If I get them, they get smoked [well some are being held for a bit, but plan on smoking them]

Tho I will agree w/ Lumberg there are some more affordable ones I hit up a bit, Padron 2000, 3000, Private Stock, my store's cigars [a very good Honduran brand for $2-$3.5].
Tend to smoke the more premium ones I own decently often tho.
