That must be a local law. I can go to the farm supply store in Le Mars and buy gallon jugs of "muriatic acid" (archaic name for HCl, and these jugs are a 33% solution, IIRC). I use it to lower the Ph of my folks' hot tub (quickly :whistling: ), but the jug says you can also use it to etch concrete. May come in handy here...

I remember my dad using muriatic acid to clean something off a garage floor some 8 years ago. I do remember it eating away at the concrete. I don't know if Jonesy has time though, I can't remember how long it takes.

To dissolve solid concrete you have to use serious stuff. Hydrochloric acid eats the lime in concrete. Hydrochloric acid is stuff that will damage most anything except glass and plastic.

Lest you guys forget, I work in an Analytical laboratory and have access to 98% sulfuric , hydrochloric , nitric ,etc. etc....I may need to make a trip in to the workplace tonight! :sign:
