The CP Make-a-Wish PIF Thread

Lets keep this PIF moving. I wanna get to grant a wish soooon!

In that case let's move this along.

Im not sure that the other guy got his wished granted or not....

I think you missed the point of Jay's post. The  smiley was meant as a replacement for a sigh.

Honestly this is the second time recently that you have been involved in the quagmire this MAW-PIF has been turning into. First Episode Did you ever attempt to explain those Montes #2 or are you taking the stance you don't need to explain yourself

You got some good advice to sit back and watch things develop and Learn. You didn't. So, after two missteps you are trying to get things back on track so you can grant a wish "sooon"! You've been here for a month and asked questions that could have readily been answered with a simple search, do you really think the MAW-PIF is something that you are ready to take on?

Out of ideal curiosity, what cigars would you have wished for had you granted someone's wish?

I wish this thread wasn't so difficult to understand.

^ ^ ^

Guys - this is not a difficult concept. If you grant a wish, make a wish. I don't understand what the problem is. And smoker b, besides never explaining yourself when MoeCizlak pointed out you said you did purchase a box, you have also shown in this thread you don't know the difference between a Hoyo and a Joya, and you don't know what an EL is. You think maybe that had something to do with the fact that the authenticity of your Monte's was questioned?

Something seems to be getting lost in translation. Who knew.... Here's the rules from the first post. Please note the red.

THE RULES

1. You may make a wish for any cigar keeping in mind that the rarer it is, the less likely someone might be able to step up and fulfill your wish.

2. This PIF is a chain of wishes which happen one at a time based upon granting a wish first. You get in the PIF by granting the "current wish" of the one member who is at bat and has made a wish for a single cigar or one from a short list (no more than 3 or 4 options). If you are able to grant that wish, post in the thread that you are willing to do so and then you may make your wish. Wash, rinse, repeat.

3. When granting a wish, try to have a wish in mind to post at the same time and when someone has said that they can grant your wish it will be confirmed in short order. Keep your wishes specific so that you get what you want. This will save time so folks aren't chiming in for people to post wishes or bumping the thread all the time. Sometimes you get lost in who's wish it is and as a result, more than one PIF chain may pop up. This is a no-no.

4. If no one grants your wish, make an alternate wish or expand your cigar wish list in a timely fashion. This is especially true for those who are looking for harder to obtain cigars. A suggested guideline is that if you receive no response to your wish within 24 hours, you consider expanding or changing your list. Be attentive to the flow. If the wishes-grants are cycling quickly then stick to 24 hours. If the PIF is in a lull, feel free to leave the wish out for longer.

5. Generally speaking, it's in poor taste to ask for something ultra rare and expensive when you've granted a wish for something much more modest. Sometimes you might get lucky but you don't want to hold up the thread for challenging wishes although there is no limit to what you may wish for.

6. Once you have committed to granting a wish, put together your package and send it out promptly PMing the DCN# to the wisher after you have done so. Timeliness is appreciated and tardy MaWPIFers may find their wishes triggering naught but the sound of crickets in the future.

7. Once you acknowledge the granting of your wish, send the wish grant-er a PM with your mailing address.

8. Sometimes, you may be able to grant a wish but choose to decline making one of your own (yep, it happens). In that case, simply offer the right to wish any able-bodied prospective participant.

9. If the PIF seems to be moving along and participation is active, then please allow a little time to pass before you come back in to make another grant-wish cycle (i.e., try to avoid back-to-back cycles). Most would consider this good sportsmanlike conduct and sharing the PIF opportunities are in the spirit of this thread.

Folks, I know I am a little slow on the uptake, and I sure don't talk the language, but if Buzzed granted my wish, and I am granting Buzzed wish (to the bet of my ability); arn't we both out of it now?

HELP me, ya all got me corn fused right now.

Woff

Pug it is a chain. Usually the way it works is Person A makes a wish. Person B grants Person A's wish and makes one of their own. Person C comes along and says "Hey I have those sticks, I grant your wish Person B" then Person C makes one of their own etc.

The way your situation worked is you made a wish and Buzz granted it. Buzz made a wish of his own. Usually someone else would come along and grant it but it sat for a bit and you granted his wish for him (not necessary but not a problem in my book if no one else minds). Therefore you are now up to make a wish that some other member can fulfill and you are only obligated to send Buzz something because you fulfilled his wish. Make sense?

Well if Pug's wish was granted by Buzzed and then Pug turned around and granted Buzzed's wish, then either Pug is up for a wish or he should pass to someone.

From what I read Pug did grant Buzzed's wish.

OK folks, the only thing I have that BUZZED ask for is the Cohiba (ISOM) . The rest of the package consists of a La Bijou Churchill, Cabaiguan Robusto, El Rey De Mundo Robusto (ISOM), TAT Red label Torpedo, and a La Aroma Robusto the Red Silk foot.

So, based on his (BUZZED) wish, I am not granting it; but will send the above as a bomb.

I also think that this is over my head, as my cupboard is very vanilla. I don't think I can be fair to you BOTL's and reciprocate as intended. I think it is necessary to remove myself from this MAW-PIF and give this to someone else, and let BUZZED be up next.

Thank you for the opportunity.

Ed

And that's all it takes, one cigar that he wished for. You are granting his wish. It's now your turn to make a wish.

Pug like Tom said, you granted his wish.

No need to be taken off! I don't even think that is possible hahahahah.

Now make a wish damn it! :)

Pug, you are certainly meeting the spirit of the MAW in my opinion. I doubt anyone here would say otherwise, so I'd say go for it and make a wish or pass it on. You are being generous, and matching just one of the cigars meets the criteria, and I am sure Buzzed isn't going to mind the other sticks you are sending. Just because you don't have a big collection of HTF or ISOM stuff, doesn't mean you can't participate. You are a great guy and you always try to help out the community.

Agreed!!!!

Well put!

In the spirit of being a gof, I am going to pass this on. I am still learning, and I don't really know what to wish for, really. I watch what goes on here, and so many of you mention tasty and all that, but I feel as if I am still in Cigar 101, but learning.

So however you do it, let someone else jump in here.

Thanks folks for your input.

Yeah Pugman, you did grant my wish by saying that you were sending a Cohiba Robusto with some others. Thanks for helping me out. If you wish to pass on your wish, pick somebody and let them know that you are passing your wish to them.

Thank You to Ed!

I'd like something dark, maduro maybe (CT BDLF or other), and sweet.

Camacho Triple Maduro (thanks for the review Greg - makes me want one)
Anejo
Opus Maduro
Make a suggestion! I'm pretty open ended on this

Edit:
I'd like to add Opus Love Affair and Opus Shark

Thank You to Ed!
