I would be remiss to not share a few of my culinary cigar experiences over the last couple of weeks, courtesy of Tony Bones and Dixieland (ahem) "trades"....I feel like a horse thief.......

My first foray into ISOM.......oh, my, a vice is born.

LGC - I think it was a No2, but coulda been a 1. Couldn't wait to light it and couldn't put it down. Very smooth, flavorful smoke. Burnt steady for a couple hours +, took my time and really enjoyed it. The absence of any grassy, young leafy taste in the habana is pronounced.

HdM pretty sure it was a double corona - Tony Bones described this as smooth and sweet, and boy was it. Burned over a saturday round of golf, lasted 14 holes. Great smoke to start at 10:30 am and burn past noon. Sweet flavors with spice, no woody or grassy tastes, smooth great burn. This has been my favorite stick to date, without a doubt.

Thanks Bones!

Victor Sinclair Serie 55 - Rosada wrapper - My first Rosada, and the difference is evident past the crimson tinted chocolate brown color. Very spicy smoke and the wrapper really dominates the flavors (which I now realize since my first foray into Opus X), peppery in an Indian Curry kind of way. Very distinct taste that stayed consistent throughout the burn. Another good burning smoke with great draw.

La Perla Black Pearl Robusto - Gee, ya think I got this from Dixie? Another good smoke. I would best describe this as a savory bloody mary, in contrast to a Irish Mocha coffee Hemingway. Theres no sweetness to this smoke, but it's flavors are pleasing without being grassy or harsh.

Fonseca Series F - Robusto I believe - Had this one this morning. Very similar to the Black Pearl, but the flavor was less complex, more singular in nature. Another good burn, solid ash, peppery/leathery smoke.

Thanks Dixie!

I still have a number of primo smokes to enjoy from both of these trades (among them a Monte A ISOM and a Lusi, oh yeah). It's not like a traded dog rockets to get these, but the b's otl knew what they were doing when they picked out these smokes for me. Each of them was very different and distinct, and each very enjoyable for different reasons.

Man, I really did love that HdM.....

It's been a great experience makin the trades and sampling the different smokes. Thanks to all of the botl that keep this goin.
