This is my first reiew on CP - honest feedback welcomed. I haven't quite mastered the photo resizing.

Tatuaje Angeles (4 5/8" x 42) Petite Corona
Cigar name: Tatuaje Havana VI
Wrapper: Nicaraguan Corojo 99 wrapper
Binder: Nicaragua
Filler: Havana VI blend (Nicaragua)
Released: 10/2006
Date Smoked: 04/29/2007

Venue: Dallas, TX - my balcony

Quick Review: Buy easier Be prepared this one will make you sit down. Great w/food too.

Prelight: tight construction with a nice Corojo wrapper & a decent aroma of coffee and terroir.

Drink / Food: Coffee - a Dark Roast Sumatra / Tanzanian Peaberry blend. Sunny side up eggs, uncured Jalapeno Bacon, Chocolate Cherry bread (toasted)

Experience: Easily lit by soft toasting of the well constructed foot and easy 2-3 draws, then tight draw for a few minutes, although the smoke was a stunning true blue ghost. The first third was a soft cocoa / herbaceous infusion with hints of cedar and coffee; obviously a perfect breakfast choice. I was afraid the Jalapeno bacon would overpower this stick but, it stepped up to the challenge as the second third was bursting at the seams with cocoa, soft leather and what wine nuts call terroir. Allow me to (IMHO) compare this to some of the Cuban beauties I've blazed. Do I hear a Montecristo amen?

I'm glad I was sitting down, because I haven't been smoking as much as I used to and I had a two cigars yesterday, but I still think this is a powerful cigar. The French Winemakers tout their terroir (soil expression) with regularity; the volado leaf utilized in the Havana VI line has showcased the Nicaraguan terroir confirming what makes their tobacco one of the best in the market today for both quality and value. Needless to say my smoke continued to develop earthy and aromatic sensations that made my breakfast a real treat, pairing well with the rich Cherry/Chocolate/Jalapeno flavors of breakfast thatwere enhanced not overpowered. Construction loosened up making the ash light and stable, the draw a dream; no burn issues here. I smoked this puppy to a nub because it was that good: no burning, scorching, or bitterness found in lesser sticks.

CA gave this a 93, I concur. I am usually left scratching my head with most over-hyped cigars, NOT the case here. The finish left me with a soft taste of cocoa (read NOT sweet) and the feeling of time, and money, well spent. Thanks to a BOTL I now have a Tatuaje Reserva J 21 in my humidor which makes me feel like a hormone challenged teen whose girlfriend has promised she'll let him go all the way next time. I can hardly wait till the parents leave town for the weekend.
Trust me, I will kiss and tell!

One of my favorite cigars. Good review. I can relate to the taste of the soil. It's there in spades. There's no doubt about the country of origin. BTW, you smoke and eat at the same time?

Doc.

Not very often, usually after a meal. It just seemed appropriate for a Sunday morning. Ya gotta figure if it's good w/ drink, why not food.
Thanks for the feedback.

Nice review Jeff! I'll have to fire one up on one of my next days off.

i enjoy the red label tats, but the brown are better and stronger imo. The jalapeno bacon sounds soo good, I haven't had some in forever. I can't wait for the R21 review, Im interested in how those are. Im itching to try my RC223 , but have to find some time to sit down and finish all 9' of it.

I smoked a churchill size just a couple weeks ago which was a great experience. I'm sure with age these would be mind-blowing, but really, who's got that kind of will power?

The Browns aren't better, in my opinion, but different. They also have to bear the cost of being rolled in the US which makes them more expensive.

True enough about the reason for the higher costs. No doubt about it.
I don't know about the "better" part though...That is, I prefer the browns over the reds. Does that make them "better" to me? I guess it would. But, if "better" is meant in the "quality" term, then I would have to agree with Doc...the browns are no better quality wise than the reds...just different.

Great review by the way...thanks for sharing.

Great review and nice pictures. I have to come to your house for some breakfast!!

The breakfast looks as good as the cigar nice pics, nice review.

Nice review!

I need to try the whole smoking while eating thing sometime....that sounds very good, especially with a nice breakfast like you had.

I recently finished off my box of red label Hermosos, and have been debating on my next purchase. I think this clenches it! Never had the PC vitola, but I love the Hermosos format.

Great review!

My sentiments exactly.

I'm trying hard not to smoke-through my whole box of Angeles...

I do think that the construction/appearance of the reds are a little less impressive than the browns. Not BAD or SUBPAR, just not A+ top-notch. But I like the flavor profile a little better.

The Victoria is my favorite vitola of the bunch so far. If you enjoy the Angeles give the Victoria a try!

I love to eat and smoke at the same time! By the way...hope you finished that bacon!!!

Good eye! YES I DID!
I don't usually eat a meal while smoking but lately breakfast, apps/tapas/snacks, and late late night Whataburgers/In-N-Outs are going well with some sticks. I NEVER smoke a cigar in a nice sitdown restaurant during the meal, even if smoking is allowed, which most dont allow smoking in the dining room. - Wait! I have at a Cigar Dinner but that's different.

Nice review and good pictures. That bacon is looking pretty damn good right now!

These are my new morning commute smokes. Great flavor and an even better price point. I tend to smoke the reds early in the day and smoke the browns later.
