Tasty Double Coronas from JO

Hello Folks,
Wanted to do a short review of the LC double coronas I purchased from JO about a year ago. They have some great tastes of raisin bread, faint sweet chocolate and spices i cant pinpoint but they are pleasant and not harsh. Burns great and construction as always is amazing. The Torcedor who rolled these shows their experience with a high quality product. Ive found you really cannot go wrong with JO and his cigars. Amazing cigars and top notch customer service. Lucasbuck I concur your concurence. Some of the best tasting cigars ive ever had came from John. The Trinidad Topes he had early last year are the best ive ever had and hope he gets more in the future. And as you said the value you get for his cigars is amazing as they smoke above their price point. Thanks for your reply Lucasbuck and take care my friend. Smoke your Cubans in good health.

It’s been years since I bought any J-O’s.

You think the larger RG’s are the best to buy?

Whopper if you like I will send you one of the aged double coronas I have free of charge postage paid and you can go from there and I can also give my own personal favorite recommendations if you like. I used my plastic cigar gauge and the double coronas measure out to 7 1/2 x 48. If you have time or a double corona the age and tastes on these will definitely hit the spot. Take care.

I’m personally a fan of a longer format sticks, so I’ve been eyeballing the partial bundle of Esplendidos. Those and the Novedoso he has up right now.

Tried my first one last weekend and it was fantastic! Mine have been resting for right around a year.

I always prefer the thinner sticks but some of his jawbreakers are really good. The BHK 58 is dynamite. A parejo over 50rg has to be amazing to get me to smoke more than one. If it’s a figurado or 109 tapered head I don’t mind bigger but the newer trend of grandes up to 60rg and beyond are just not my bag. The BHK & Sig VI are the only ones I smoke regularly. If John had Ninfas I would buy them. His EL Piramides Extras are also great. As with most Havana cigars they are much better with a year or so age on them. Smoke one or two and put the rest down until next summer.

Lucasbuck if you havent already tried one JO's EL Victoria Cohiba 55th cigar is amazing. I was lucky to get some and wow they are a cigar thats an absolute experience to smoke.

The Victoria is 5 7/8 X 57 and with that size comes a waterfall of flavors. An already amazing cigar that im trying to keep a bundle of 24 aging for another 5 years and then have another.

Thanks for the responses. The reason I asked which I should have said before is that I read somewhere that isom’s were better the larger the RG.
 
The Vitoria is very good. I do like his BHK much better though.
And @whopper the reverse has always been my experience. Give me a 42 or thinner and I’m almost always happy. Larger are much more hit and miss and rarely 10/10 which is common with thinnies.
 
Did JO change the name of his thread, or start a new one?
And when he talks about "EL" what is the meaning.

Been here a while, but still new to the JO stuff
 
EL denotes El Laguito factory where most of the best rollers work and most Cohibas are rolled.

Which 1911?
