Talk me into it

Plus I swim pretty well....just ask Roy R Frush ??? .......he by the way does not float so much or so well. :sign: ...lmao

Bastard. Only a demented sadist like you would intentionally sink his own boat just to verify my claim that I don't float...

Gary,

Keep the bike.

Keep doing the 55.

Buy the Charger.

Sell me your cigars.

NO, NO, NO,.... sell the bike, buy the Charger, and keep doing the '55 Chevy project. You can have a bike anytime. Immediately after we graduated college, my best friend and roommate bought a '70 Hemi Cuda in orange. That car was the ultimate muscle car. Racing that car on the Farm-to-Market roads of Texas was an incredible experience.

The problem is...

The Charger = the bike + the 55 project :(

Now mind you - I will be able to drive the 55 on occasion! :D

Doc - you're right, I've been known to be the fool.

The decision to sell the bike is done - it's up for sale!

Tell us about it....

2001 Harley Ultra Classic.

At 15K I had the engine done to Stage IV by R & R in NH. No special parts just Hi-Pro - 95 cu.
(I did it because I could :D )

95hp 95ft/lbs - can go to 105HP 107ft/lbs with Thunder Header mufflers.
I had them put on V&H to be able to drive it in the garage!!!

Extra Chrome here and there.

It has a total of around 32K miles.

Ok, I test drove the car on Saturday....the Charger is OUT.

I will, however, be working with him to detail it some!

So what was wrong with the Charger?

It's what's wrong with me.....I'm too tall.

Ok - so, as I left my driveway with the car, this biker gives me the thumbs up...and a few heads are turning as I drive up the road - way cool!

I drive to the store with my girl. I do a mild burn-out....she's not smiling.

We head over to a small 'mopar-mainly' car show at the local Burger King....got a spot and walked around.
A few folks asked some questions and I even answered some about the car we parked next too....a 1971 AMC Javelin SST - which use to be my car!

As I admired the engine and the styling of my Charger and the all the Mopar's and 'other' cars around....along came a late 60's Firebird....the blower whinning and the polished aluminum sticking WAAAAAAY out of the hood!

It was at that moment - when EVERYONE turned - that the little old Charger seemed just 'cool'.
Then, as the Firebird rolled into the lot and drove down the line of cars, the exhaust from the pipes (coming out from in front of the back wheels), jetted across my legs....at low speed....from 8 feet AWAY!

That's when I knew - I want to be in the '55 build!

So, it's not "What's the matter with the Charger?'...it's "That '55s going to be COOL!

Nothing wrong with a '55 Chevy!

Sweet! I understand the Charger decision much better now.

As for the new Avatar... ???

That yellow chevy is sexy!!!!! Kinda reminds of the one Tony Danza drove in Hollywood Knights.

close your eyes for a second, and picture yourself inside the Charger, smoking an Opus X, or another fav cigar, imagine the wind through your hair, your lady sittin' next to you ...

that's enough plausible cause for me to pick the Charger! :)

For wiw, you comparing 2 different vehicles. Blown Firebird (total street racer) verses a Restored Charger (daily driver). You can be one or the other, rarely both.

Being a Mopar man ( 73 Duster, 68 Cuda, both sold when I was younger) I'd go for the charger. How ever if the blowr factor is what ou into then the 55 is the way (which I owned 1 for 2 weeks)

Remember, "Speed cost money, How fast do you want to go)

And you could always put a blower on the Charger.

Either way be happy in your choosing.

My .02

Great points, Paul!

Yes - they are 2 different cars....what I am comparing really is the '55 project with the Charger. The Firebird was just the 'reminder' of the prize! :D

The '55 is going to be that 'hybrid' - at 700+hp(injected) and with a whole new suspension and everything else...we hope to achieve a driver as well. Not quite daily...but since we are putting in A/C...a driver!

Oh yea....I wasn't kidding when I said I was too tall....I'd have to lower the seat rails at least 3 inches to fit comfortably!
