Talk about not setting a good example!

Hmmmm. I don't think I would have let him get away with that, if he did it to my son.

I'd like to say let's hold off judgement until all the facts are presented. But then again, it's Millbury.

Either way, this is the best news from the story:
"Milbury is now an NHL analyst with NBC Sports, which said Friday he'd been taken off the air. ''We both came to the conclusion that he should remain off the air while focusing on his affairs''

This crap is just happening all too often in youth sports, and most certainly not just hockey. Just sad and pathetic, and I know that we remind all of us coaches and all our parents each season that the moment you do something you'd better believe someone in the stands will have that shit up on youtube before the end of the day. But then again, the embarrassment of a youtube video shouldn't be the reason you don't act like an a-hole.

OK, here we go folks: This story is almost as upsetting as some of Gary's links. No really, you can't make this shit up!

Good Lord, what the hell is wrong with people? John's link is just plain sick.....a father punching his son in the face, over a basketball game? Hell, I'm the first to admit I get a little too loud during the game, I can't help it. Ask my son, he'll tell you  I've never seen anyone yell, let alone punch a son/daughter after the game, I've coached many teams.

Andy's link is pretty damn funny, IMO. Someone got so pissed off, that they took a shit on the opponents glove? :sign:

I was just thinking about this, and the link I provided, and now I almost think my link and that weirdness is making light of otherwise serious and f'ed up situations. That's certainly not what I was going after. Instead I was seeing it as another extreme example of bad sportsmanship. Sorry.

I didn't take it like that. Are both wrong, hell yeah, but I find what both parents did to children 100x worse then shitting in someones glove. Reading the hockey player assaulting a player or the parent punching his own son, brings anger to forefront.........the poop/glove thing reminds me of "Jackass" for some reason.

I will be the first to admit that I'm a firey person, and I had reservations about myself when it first came time to start coaching my son's teams 5 years ago. However, being out there with those kids, getting angry with them is about the last thing I could ever do. The only time I've ever yelled at one of the kids on the team I coach is when they did something that demonstrated poor sportsmanship (making a comment to a player on the other team, or slamming a basketball down when they messed up a play). I will admit to getting into a heated discussion with a ref, but the way he was calling the game was taking the fun out of it for all the boys on both teams. He was calling 10 second violations, and back court during a 1st grade basketball game. He gave me a technical, then the other coach got one on the very next play. At halftime of the game, the director of parks and rec removed the ref from the game an apologized to both of us coaches.

I could never hit a kid on my team or the other team. But if I saw a parent do anything like those stories, it would probably end with me and the parent/coach leaving in handcuffs.
