How does the TAA work? Are the cigars on sale for that day, and you can go in and buy them? Or is it an event you stay at? I've seen the pictures of the smokes up on vitolas, and I think there's a shop nearby, so I may be interested in attending.

You pre-pay for the event, then the cigars are handed out at the event. Some shops have food/beverages, etc. Some shops that don't sell all their tickets will have left overs.
 
I will try to check at Mission Pipe to see if there are more tickets available.

What are the usual prices for events like this? What does one expect from a TAA event?

My local said $50 tickets and you get an unreleased Opus X and unreleased DC Maximus and you are entered into a raffle. They also have poker for cigars and all the Fuente Holiday smokes :love:
 
I just got back from a TAA event at Lighthouse Cigars in Keyport. While this is not my local B&M (it's a 40 min ride) I would highly recommend this local, Ralph and his staff run a top notch place with fair pricing!

They raffled off some nice gifts and had a small poker tournament for a beautifully framed DC Maximus logo. All in all a very pleasant evening!
 
There was an event at a local here tonight (J Barbera). After going there 3 times in the last two weeks, loading up on some cigars and asking when tickets were going on sale, I kept getting blown off. "Come back after the weekend." "GIve us your email address, and we'll send you the info tomorrow morning." "We still don't know yet."

Guess my money's not good enough for them.
 
I plan on hitting the TAA event at Cross St. Tobacco on 10/4. Ludwig, are you able to make it?

Son of a #$%@&! I can't believe I forgot about this. But it's nice to know you had a good time Wasy. Ralph's is one of my go to places and it's always nice to smoke it up with him and his staff.
