Switching RH on beads?

I switched to 65% beads two years ago and absolutely love them.

Since these 65% beads struggle during the winter to maintain 60%, I have been thinking about keeping a couple of 70% pucks around to use in the winter, hoping to maintain 65%.

Anyone else use different RH beads in the winter?

As long as your humidor seals correctly and you've got enough beads, this shouldn't be an issue, imo.

Its a very common issue if you run your heater enough and open your humidor frequently.

I think that is a great solution. I just refill mine more frequently in winter.

I had a similar problem keeping my RH up around 65%. I had 65% beads but I couldn't keep the RH above 60 so what I ended up having to do was keep a shot glass of distilled water in the humi ALL the time. Checked it every week or so and it was steady at 65% and kept the shot glass full. Worked great. My problem was just that the desktop humi I was using had a horrible seal. This seemed to fix my problem.
