Just curious. I've been considering getting one because of how ridiculous I'd look. I'm 20, have black hair, faded jeans, and chuck taylor high tops. I look dumb enough with a stogie hanging out of my mouth, but I'm embracing it.

So, how bout it? Smoke a pipe every once and again for a change of pace?

Used too. Love the way they smell when someone else is smoking it. But they just too easily tar up for my tastes. And too much trouble to keep lit. And I have this great meerschaum sailor pipe with an amber stem, too, but just lost interest in it.

I'm intrigued but just love the simplicity of a fine cigar. Clip, light, smoke. And when you're done you just pitch the butt in the gutter and light another :D

I owned a pipe before I ever bought a cigar. I have loved the smell since a child, so not long after I turned 18 I bought a pipe and a few types of tobacco. Since I discovered cigars I can't keep pipe tobacco fresh long enough to justify buying it very often. It's just not the same; not even close.

It does make the car interior smell great, though.

I enjoy a pipe every now and again. I currently own three and I'm always on the lookout for another. But cigars are my first love.

Have 4 pipes at the present. I smoke at least one bowl a day. Interesting flavors if you stay away from the aromatics.

It depends. What color chucks do you wear?

For example, someone with black - or perhaps blue - ones could get away with a pipe once in a while. A red chuck wearer is advised to stick with cigars, and that is a stretch...

:D

I smoke a pipe rarely - but enjoy it when I do. I always wear my blue chucks and a tweed driving cap when I do... ;)

I became interested in them when I checked out Michael Cook's home page on CigarPool. He's REALLY into pipes so I bought a decent Barclay and a "starter kit" and I've tried a couple of different tobaccos. Michael even sent me some pipe tobacco as an extra the second time I won CigarPool which was pretty nice stuff since he knew I was just getting into pipes.

I love the smell of pipe tobacco but smoking one in the car is a pain in the a$$. To me they're too much trouble. Maybe someday I'll change my mind. I don't think I've lit it up within the last year....

I have two Estate Pipes I inherited when my father passed away in '99 (they were my Grandfather's, though I never new him - he died on christmas the year I was born)

I have tried them a couple times, but never regularly. Nice, but I'm not big on the flavored or aromatic stuff (like Cigars), and my experience is limited.

Looking for more info though.
