Superbowl contest

I saw this on another board and with permission I am going to run the contest here




Pick this years Superbowl winner or loser.
RULES:
1.Each team chosen will cost you cigars to play based on the odds of them in the Superbowl.(see below)

2.Once a team is chosen no one else can take that team.

3.You can take two teams to start. As we get closer to the deadline and there are teams not picked I’ll open it back up.

4.Superbowl winner gets 60% of the smokes and the loser gets 40% of the cigars. If all teams are taken the total number of cigars is 190(wow).

5. Deadline is opening day Sept 10

6. Cigars must be sent to me by the deadline or the team will go back up for grabs.

7. If a team is not taken by the deadline and makes it to the Superbowl all players will be eligible for a drawing for the smokes.

8.Premium cigars only! No bundle or seconds!

Doubt you'd ever fill this even half way up (especially with you taking 2 top tier teams before we even get a chance to read this). If you want to run something like this, I suggest you make the entry 2 premiums and then it's a blind draw for the teams. This way everyone has the same chance at the teams with the best odds....without the host taking two of the top 4 teams. I'm guessing this is why there's not a single response to this thread yet other than mine....no one wants to start out handicapped to the man holding the cigars.

I was thinking the same thing.As Im a huge steelers fan I would want them but could take any other team.Hell Im so confident in my team Ill take the Raiders if no one wants them

Why would I want to send you my cigars when you have two of the top four teams in terms of S.B. odds? I'm not trying to pull your contest down, but come on. You've already handicapped the rest of the field by coming out and taking the Steelers and Cowboys in your initial post (I don't think either will win it this year

). You've already dropped the odds for the rest of us so there won't be much interest in this. I'm a huge Panthers fan but I'm not sending out 8 premium cigars when I know we don't have a chance as long as Delhomme is at the helm.

If this is about supporting your team, just come out with a 2/1 or 4/1 straight up bet offering other teams against the Steelers? Like I said earlier in this post, I'm not trying to crap on your contest, but you can tell from the lack of responses taking other teams that this isn't going to go well. If you were to put the teams up for bid, it might go better. It seems like there are more Steelers fans here than fans for any other team, so by taking them before anyone has a chance to read over the contest, you've alienated the larger group of people that might be interested in something like this. Put the teams up for highest bid that way everyone has a chance to grab their team and decide how much in cigars that team is worth.
