It's the job of sports media people to "invent" reasons why the Super Bowl will be....well.....Super. I can't believe how many people are falling for it.....let's look at some reality.

1. Team "A" went 12-4 with the most difficult schedule in the NFL (some say the most difficult ever). Team "B" went 9-7 with one of the easiest schedules in the NFL

2. Team "A" won six of their final seven games of the regular season. Team "B" lost four of their final six games of the regular season.

3. Team "A" played their conference championship opponent three times and won all three. Team "B" played their conference championship opponent twice and were soundly beaten once.

Now we all know that thanks to Pete Rozelle and Paul Tagliabue and their parity dream "any team can beat any other team on any given Sunday" and that includes the Super Bowl; especially with the craziness surrounding the week prior. But if you look at the reality about these two teams it's really pretty simple.

Oh well, at least the sports media people have made it a good game ;)
 
I think Cardinals plus the points is a good bet. Big Ben isn't looking so big these days ;)
 
Nothing like some good old one sidedness. :) hehehe. And I don't have a horse in this mess, I just love a good game. And the old addage any team can beat any other has been proven time and time again. :) I like the underdogs in this one!!

P.S. On a side note, I too am mesmorized. I think he should be up for man of the year with that avatar. What a fantastic ass!

So I take it you don't seem to remember last year's game? Didn't the Patriots and their fans think they had it in the bag? What happened there?

I will be rooting for the Cards just because of people who think they can't do it. I think it will be a good game and I do give credit to the Steelers for a hell of a defense.

Damn, I was thinking the same thing. Almost sounds like the same story as last year but different names. Any given Sunday ya know!!. I've got some kick ass numbers in a couple pools so thats what I'll be pullin for!

Ouch that was just a kick in the............... Yea I do what you are saying but does anybody remember the first year the Pats won the Super Bowl? Young QB and a roster that barely anyone outside of New England knew. I only want to see the Steelers win because I don't want to give any more of my cigars to Fishin345, that bastid. :D
 
Oh I know how the "any given Sunday" thing works and I know it's possible.....but if the two teams play to their potential?........Well at least the Cards got their and they deserve a lot of credit for that ;)

I got these numbers in the big Opus-Anejo pool:

Steelers 4 5 1

Cardinals 3 9 6

I guess I'll go with 34-13 Steelers
 
The sad part of this Super Bowl is that Az. doesn't really have a fan base. Listening to NFL radio on Sirius yesterday they said there were numerous press conferences for Az. players in which no media showed up. they went on to point out that Az. (Phoenix) is made up of a high concentration of people who moved there from elsewhere and thus there just isn't a fan base for the team.

A friend who is at the game said the TV media was handing out Az. jerseys for people to wear so there would be some Az. fans in the TV spots they were doing.

That's just sad to hear. The Cardinal's story is amazing this year. If they were playing any other team, I would be cheering for them.

Should Arizona pull out a win, I dread seeing an explosion of people wearing their colors and proclaiming they've been fans all along. That would be an insult. I'll wear my Black & Gold tomorrow no matter what, just like I do every year.
