Well, I finally listened to you guys and set up a coolidor for my ever growing overflow that the good old Aristocrat and 8 desktops couldn't handle anymore.

I followed all the directions...bleach...baking soda...air-out...got a few Pucks from Rod and it's holding steady at 68 percent for over a week now. Now my problem...I'm struggling with the whole 'sticking my cigars in a plastic domicile' thing.

It just doesn't seem natural!

Perhaps not, but my cooler has been way more efficient at keeping RH than my humi. Actually, it's almost to a fault how well it seals up.

Welcome to the brotherhood. Yes it seems like a foreign concept, but it is the most stable enviorment out there! No start buying more cigars

Good luck sifting through all those singles.. I can only imagine how many gems are there that you don't even realize you have.

Gary, I had a real hard time trusting plastic and my cigars. Just doesn't seem natural to me either. Bit the bullet a couple/few years ago, and all has been fine.

I agree it just does not seem right. I prepped a cooler a few weeks ago, but I just could not make myself do it. No I must do it soon, I have no more space.

Before my Aristocrat came to live with me, I had four coolers up and running on Heartfelt beads. Pretty boring opening them up and seeing "65" on the hygro, time after time.....

I had smokes in boxes, heck even bags with the top opened up....worked like the bomb.

One tip - if the cooler isn't full (yet), use bubble wrap to take up the unused space. Makes things easier on the humidification system......

Just do it.. As much as I love my wine cooler, I love my cooler. The cooler I'd less maintainance than the wine cooler..

I do have to say, my chemically engineered, plastic humidor is right on the money every time I check it! As you said Tom, it's almost boring to own due to it's lack of maintenance...quite a departure from our old desktop days of 'constant' maintenance! This may rival our Aristocrats!

Also, I find that if I don't look at it when I'm in our cigar room, it doesn't bother me near as much... :D

Just send them to me and you will never worry about putting them in a plastic domicile thing. I promise to take good care of your cigars. :whistling:

Too bad coolers are shaped the way they are, otherwise it would be so easy to glue some nice wood around it to make it resemble furniture.

You could always use camouflage paint on the outside so it disappears in your room Gary.
