I just received my Newbie trade package from Heatmiser today. Unfortunately, my new humidor is in the process of being seasoned, and will not be ready for five days. What would you advise me to store them in till my humidor is ready? I searched and found zip lock bags and Tupperware. Anything else?

Thank you.

Go with your search results young Grasshopper! :)

You can also try a cooler that you might have lying around that they would all fit into. Make sure it's clean though.

If you've got a B&M anywhere nearby, you could pick up a Boveda Pak to throw in a zip lock with the cigars. Not a necessity, but it's always nice to have a pak on hand for any unexpected trips that may come up down the road.

What I did last time I had that problem, which doens't happen enough; I wiped down every surface of the humidor with saline solution and put all the cigars into ziplock bags, closed them up and put inside the humi. The humidor should be seasoned in the next 36 hours and you can ease your sticks into it without the bags. Make sure there are no puddles, and it is just a wipe down...nothing more!

good luck.

Tupperware works well! Even better with some cedar from boxes, tubes, wherever in them. Get one of those jars or tubes of jell to go inside it, then place the cigars, and even a hygrometer. No seasoning required!

What I do is just go to my local cigar shop and get an empty cigar box and use that. I also use them as a travel humidor..

If it were me I would avoid using the above mentioned as a long term storage idea. To my knowledge most (if not all) traditional boxes do not have a very good seal, and the boxes I have don't have much of a seal at all. If it is a well seasoned box you might get a few days, maybe a week before it dries out, but once it dries out it will suck the humidity out of your sticks causing them to dry out and eventually become un-smokable.

Just my .02

Why SALINE solution?

I've always wipped down with distilled water. Although some swear that it will raise the grain.
