I had the privilege of popping the cap on this little beast last night and let’s just say that I am planning my afternoon around finding as many of these as possible. The aroma, taste, mouth, everything about this beer is special. Simply a must try.

Anyone else tried this yet? Would love to hear other thoughts on it.

Cheers!

I have no idea what you are talking about. I couldn't get my eyes off your avatar.

But really I haven't tried it.

I see it everytime I head for more beer, but haven't picked it up yet. Not a huge hop head, so this one scares me.

I know. The first time I saw it, it mesmerized me for the better part of 10 minutes.

It is pretty damn hoppy but it seems to be offset well with bitterness. Your worries are warranted.

I certainly enjoy Stone - so I will check this one out! Thanks!!

I'm a huge fan of Stone's brews, but I can't find it around here....I love it here, but OK is beer purgatory. And I'm a serious hophead to boot.

I only wish, but Stone doesn't distribute to Illinois!
And I'm a serious hophead too!

We had one of the 3L 10th Anniversaries over this past New Years Eve. Awesome beer. I have a couple bombers left. While it is very hoppy, it is very malty also, which helps balance the hops nicely. Might have to chill another one down soon.

BitterRat, when I head back to Indiana to see my folks, I stop at a liquor store in Highland, IN for the Stone products. PM me if you want the name of the place.

Speaking of hops, I am having their Ruination IPA as I type!

I just saw the 2007 release of their Vertical Epic and didn't pick it up. I hope I still can!

I have not had this one but thanks for the heads up!

What's this one like compared to the Barley Wine Jonas? I found that a bit too hot for my taste.

Compared to the Stone Old Guardian? When the 10th was fresh it was pretty hot in the hops category, but we sampled one a couple weeks back and it had settled down quite a bit and had a much more rounded sweet malt character to balance it out. If you see it give it a shot, I personally love it.

Jonas:

Ya know, I had seen your avatar a hundred times but never looked close enough to realize what it was! Awesome!
