Spanish Cedar trays.

I am setting up a designated group of tools just for building trays. These will be available in custom sizes for your particular needs. I'll be taking orders in 30 days for those of you in need of them. I'll have 2 styles available, the traditional slotted style and my new improved criss cross design. All will have box joint corners. I'll have dedicated people to build them if there are enough orders. I'll post pics of the different styles soon. Please let me know if I can be of help. Here is an example of the criss cross design. |I'm working the price out as we speak. I'm guessing trays custom made to your size will start around $49.99 with the standard slot design. I'm looking for resources to get the Spanish Cedar cheaper but it'll have to be good quality with very little sap. For AAA quality SC, it's about 10 bucks a board foot. If I can find a better price w/o sacrificing quality, I'll try to bring it down a little from there. The criss cross design will probably start around $80.00 due to the time it takes to build them. If there are coolidors that are commonly used by everyone, I'll create an off the shelf tray that I'll price as low as I can. I know there are cheap import trays out there but they're generic sizes. My trays will be built to the measurements you need. Our hobby is way over due for someone to build trays to spec. I hope this will be helpful to those that use coolidors and fridgidors.
Here's a little better pic of the tray pictured in that humidor. I'm now making the squares about 1/4 inch smaller for this style but custom dimensions are available.

It's 3+ hours of work + materials. Unfortunately Spanish Cedar is about $10.00 a Board foot around here and it takes about 2 BF to build a tray. I did find a bulk load of Spanish cedar I'm trying to buy. If I get it, I can get them down to about $50.00 to $60.00. I have to buy 300 bf though. I'm having them send me a sample so I can check out the quality.

If there is a standard size you guys would like me to make available, I could offer a better price. The more I can cut up at once, the quicker I can build them. One off trays take more time though.

Those are quite nice and I would imagine that there would be more interest with these when considering the price difference. There are ample slots to let air through. Im sure you will find a niche market of people who would like those for their coolers and humidors.

Another thing I'll have available will be for the floor of humidors. This piece will allow you to move tiles into various positions to group your cigars.

Your work looks great. I would be interested in a custom singles tray for a coolidor that I am setting up out of a Coleman 54 qt. Steel Belted Cooler. How long before you would be up and running?
