Soooo slice of lemon or a few kernels of rice?

Me? I'm a rice guy. I remember my first Kristal Weizen (god has it really been over 20 years? ??? ) was served to me with a slice of lemon in it and I almost gagged.

Both are tradional over here in Germany, I was just wondering how you guys like to drink your Kristal Weizen.

Oh and I also only like Kristal Weizen in the sommer for some reason.... how about you?

I love it in the summer, with a slice of lemon. I used to go to a Microbrewery in Jacksonville, Fl. named Rag Time Tavern. At the time owned by two brothers, who went to brewing school in Pilsen. They crafted a wonderful wheat, and served it with a slice of lemon. The best I've ever had.

Fruit in adult beverages is definitely a no-no whether its beer, whiskey, rum, tequila or whatever. Vegetables are another story. I'd never get any vitamin E if it wasn't for the olives in my thermos of martini's that gets me through the morning.

As far as the Kristal Weizen, I've never had one, so I can't really comment. It does amaze me though that a country which is so anal about what goes into a beer while it's being brewed is so fond of putting things in it afterwards.

Kristal Weizen usually pours without much of a head due to it having next to no brewers yeast in it. You throw in a few rice kernels and voila! Instant Beer head

I figured that was why, but didn't know for sure. Kinda like the etched "D" one the bottom of Duvel glasses I suppose.

I was talking more about the lemon, banana, etc.

Slice of Lemon is traditional only in Kristal Weizen, all the other mixed with fruit beer drinks are not.

And lets not discuss Cola-Weizen
